Who's going to win Kicking duties?

You keep them both.

Last year, at the giants game...Martin walks on the field and nails a long FG, his first kick as a dallas cowboy, with few seconds left on the clock to win the game. That is ice cold blood.

Does Folk make that kick? No. Give him another year to develop before we trust him with that much responsibility. We have to go with the guy who we KNOW will get it done.

That was not his first kick. It was his 4th attempt of the day and he already had one miss earlier in the game. It was a huge make to win the game.

Based on what empirical evidence?

Maybe Folk doesn't miss the earlier attempt and there is no need to hit a FG late in the game. :D

Based on historic precedence. Most rookies have difficulty with that kind of pressure.

We know Gramattica can do it. Give him this year and let Folk develop.

I find it very ironic that this position has haunted us for years because we couldn't find anyone and now it has the potential to haunt us over who we ultimately will let get away.

Even if we keep two on cutdown day I don't think we'll go the entire season that way.

Keeping two kickers made some sense when we thought one was the big leg (KO's) and the other more precise (FG's). But they've turned out to be virtual clones or if anything a slight reversal of expectations. I'm not sure you keep two for long if they're clones. The real question is whether Folk can maintain it since he's so unproven.

Links to this "evidence" would be appreciated.

Oh come on. Every single rookie in the nfl makes rookie mistakes, often due to the vastly different speed of the game.

This is common football sense.

Why don't we always play rookie QBs?

Rookie mistakes has nothing to do with it. You definitively declared Folk misses that kick and there is "historic evidence."

Okay...let's see it. Or should we all just take your word for it and end the discussion?

Alright, Folk is highly unlikely to make such a high pressure kick. That's a ton of stress on a vet much less a rookie.

Isnt it great to debate Hostile's favorite position :D

But seriously... who would have ever thought we would have two good kickers and be torn about which one to go with.... opposite end of kicking spectrum - feels good

Trade Grammatica for a draft pick.

As I said in another post, that's where the rub lies. No one looks to be willing to give up a pick for a kicker right now. That could change with injuries though.

No, that just makes me hate him less, but he is still a Kicker.

I just find it comical that he's outperforming this clutch Veteran who was out of work until we pulled him form the scrap heap, but is not a better option.

I haven't been paying any attention to the kicking game, is Folk really that good? I just don't want us to have another Billy Cundiff....
Cundiff was good until his injury

I thought that was a wasted draft pick anyway but I am not torn up about it.

Now I know it was. Gramatica would have been just fine.

I wish we were talking about a possible find at G or NT than getting rid of Folk or Gramatica.

He was only out of work because new england decided to take a chance on their rookie. He was doing great in their camp as well.

Not sure why you seem to hate Gramatica but he won us a game last year.

Don't make it look like Gramatica was let go because he did not have it anymore.

He had a very serious injury and we were just one of the first ones to give the rebuilt engine a try.
