Then all this rookie does is hit a 52 yarder right down the middle that would have been good from 58 yards or more. To me that is a kick with intense pressure. Once the season happens you already should have the job and can put pressure like that out of your mind.
But if people need to believe the rookie would miss it or is more likely to then good for them. I still say there's no evidence to support this fear.
My personal opinion is that at this point Folk is, as you said, kicking for his job. If he fails, he's let himself down but no one beyond that really. Fans will quickly forget about him.
If he fails to make that same kick this fall with a key game on the line he will have let an entire team and all of Cowboy nation down. The former may have greater financial ramifications but I think the latter, in reality, has way more pressure personally.
