Suisham's actually been kicking OK in camp, so they're not that desperate, but they would be the most likely destination for a kicker, along with Kansas City. I don't see the Cowboys making a deal with the <ethnic slur deleted> though.

I can definitely see them persuing him if he's cut.

He was only out of work because new england decided to take a chance on their rookie. He was doing great in their camp as well.

Not sure why you seem to hate Gramatica but he won us a game last year.

Don't make it look like Gramatica was let go because he did not have it anymore.

He had a very serious injury and we were just one of the first ones to give the rebuilt engine a try.

The funniest thing to me is that I can't imagine there being any more pressure than to fight for your job with a guy who is making the decision very difficult for the coaching staff. Which from all indications is what is going on here.

No, that just makes me hate him less, but he is still a Kicker.

I just find it comical that he's outperforming this clutch Veteran who was out of work until we pulled him form the scrap heap, but is not a better option.

My take: if both kickers continue to perform well, I'd dangle Folk for a trade to see what we might get in return. If it's anything of worth, I'm very comfortable with Gramatica. If we can't get much, keep the younger, cheaper player, obviously.

That's preseason and you are talking apples and oranges. Hitting a game winner in the NFC championship? I want the veteran, not the rookie.

My personal opinion is that at this point Folk is, as you said, kicking for his job. If he fails, he's let himself down but no one beyond that really. Fans will quickly forget about him.

If he fails to make that same kick this fall with a key game on the line he will have let an entire team and all of Cowboy nation down. The former may have greater financial ramifications but I think the latter, in reality, has way more pressure personally.

If you would have just as much confidence with Folk kicking the game winner, that is just fine.

I don't - not saying to cut him, just prove it in a real game situation when the game is on the line before I give him my confidence.

Scrap heap is a metaphor for waiver waire and I've used it long before this topic.

I thought that was a wasted draft pick anyway but I am not torn up about it.

Now I know it was. Gramatica would have been just fine.

I wish we were talking about a possible find at G or NT than getting rid of Folk or Gramatica.

Wasted is a strong word.

He should take the "watch from the bench" approach this year(like a rookie QB) We just may have our kicker of the future.

Yep, and I'm watching and reading the duel going on and in every way it sounds to me like the kid is the better option.

He has more hang time on his kicks, has missed fewer, has more potential NFL career ahead of him, and costs less.

I don't see the downside, but I admit to high standards and myopia.

I'd go with Folk. He has been kicking lights out and to me, he is a long term solution. However, we still have two more preseason games left which could affect my opinion.
