OK, guys, events have taken their course! Who is on the Tony Romo Bannedwagon now?

Exlpain why or why not.

Proof is in the pudding. Pre-season isn't pudding. He has the play day in day out before I'm on the bandwagon. Although, I do like what I've seen thus far.

I support Romo. He has won out and I hope he is our future.

Why, because he is a Cowboy. No further explination required in my book.

Myself I like Romo and feel comfortable if he is forced into action. I think he has proven himself on the field with some very good play this past pre-season and deserves to be in the position he is currently in. I would agree he does not have a gun for an arm but I think he has enough arm to play in this league and be successful.

I am not worried about our backup for the first time since Steve Beuerlein.

I have finally gotten on. I'd not seen enough of him period and he didn't do a lot when he got the chance. He has definitely arrived IMO. That throw out of the end zone after shedding a tackle for a safety and the game was big league. He just 'has it'.

I'm very comfortable with him as the backup and eventually I expect him to start a real controversy by doing well in relief. He'll have to really shine to out do Bledsoe but I think he can win in this league.

I see someone who can play as well as Bledsoe albeit he will never have Bledsoe's arm and can make plays on the run as well as avoid the sack. All he has to do is stop making bone headed plays like the interception in the endzone and a couple of others last game.

Good answer.

I've never cared for the concept of "jumping on the bandwagon". Just because a person says they will wait until a player plays in the regular season, over the course of time before they pass judgment on him, seems like a logical and rational view, imo.

But any fan of the Cowboys should want all players on the team to perform well when they are in the game.

I'm in. After watching the preseason games (all of them) again and again, he just handled himself well, handled adversity, good pocket presence, ball had zip, he was able to throw a good deep ball.

I have never really been a fan of BBQ Ribs.

Is this a pun?? Yep, there were some Romo supporters who were "banned," but to call it a banndewagon is a little harsh:laugh2:

There's another thread where Peter King compared him to Tom Brady... Brady didn't get into a game however until Bledsoe was injured. If it comes down to it and Romo has to go in, I won't run and hide, but I don't think Romo will be in this season unless that happens... knock on wood, because I think with Bledsoe we are Super Bowl contenders. With Romo, I'm not so sure.

If Bledsoe is sacked three times in the first half of the Jacksonville game I wouldn't be surprised to see Romo make his first appearance in an NFL game. I don't think Parcells will do it unless he feels he has t do it, but the first game is important.

Bill stuck with Terstaverde, he will stick with Bledsoe. He values experience a little too much in my book. He will stick with Bledsoe regardless of the number of sacks he takes.

Now, if ther are a lot of sacks, I wouldn't get real comfortable if I was a tackle!

I don't think it's experience that determines that choice; I think it's which is the better player. Sadly, Testaverde was our best QB at that point.

You may be right but then again Parcells has not had much to choose from when talking backup QB's. I agree BP will not pull Bledsoe as fast as some fans may want but if he is as confident about Romo as he appears to be he very well could if (big if) things went south in a hurry. I think the key is how comfortable is he with Romo? Only Bill knows

I'm not on the Romo bandwagon. I'm happy he has shown, be it only in preseason, that at least we don't have to fall apart if Bledsoe is injured...maybe we can still compete. However, he's still an undrafted free agent who's never thrown an NFL pass. That's not a bandwagon...that's just a kiddie ride at the Fair.

Until I actually see much much much more from him, and in a real NFL game, (and even then one has to wait to have consistancy proven), until then, I'll hold to my opinion that he will mostly be a career backup, but that's more than could be said for Quincy Carter, Chad Hutchinson, or Drew Henson, so I don't really think it's an insult.

Bledsoe is far far superior to Romo, imo, and when Bledsoe goes into retirement, I'll still be clamoring for a high profile super stud at QB...that's what I'm used to with the Cowboys...that's what we've required to win any of our SB's...and I don't think Romo is it, though I hope like heck I'm proven wrong.

3 sacks in a half? I be freakin' shocked to see my starting qb replaced over 3 sacks...how about replacing the blockers?

I don't think Bill will pull Bledsoe mid-game no matter what, short of injury. He will want Romo to have a week of practice and have the game plan more tailored to Romo's strengths then Bledsoe's.

If Bledsoe has a couple of horrid games in a row it might happen, but I wouldn't bet on it at all, and again not mid-game.

I've always rooted for him, but I can't say I'm sold.

First of all he turned down a 3 year deal and wants a 1 year deal. To me, that means he's prepared to leave via Free Agency if he doesn't get what he wants.

Second, I'd still like to see a big time arm and I haven't yet.

Third, all I've ever seen of him is in pre-season. I'd like to see him get some real playing time. The pre-season stuff is encouraging, but just isn't enough for me to relax. I want him to be given a chance.

Lastly, I'm still a franchise QB guy who thinks wanting a "bus driver" is ridiculous. I always want the best kind of talent. Especially at QB.

First of all I very seldom jump on "bandwagons" but I am at a state of mind that I want to see alot more of Romo. I was impressed with his poclket presence, his mobility, and his accuracy on the run. I still need to see a good deep throw.....that part of his game could be suspect.

Bledsoe will start the season as well he should; however, If he struggles behind our OL I would not be opposed to Romo replacing him. When I say struggle I mean bad decisions due to pressure, holding the ball to long resulting in sacks and turnovers.
