Wow, sounds like a player like that would be in high demand on the open market.

What did he sign for again? How did it compare to other safeties in the free agent market?

Kaevishaun and Grant were also on the market and they were also rated highly. Hamlins problem is not his talent he has that in spades. His issue was that there is a concern that his brain might detatch from the membrane that surrounds it thus killing him if he takes a bad hit. Being hit repeatedly on the ehad with a signpost will cause some issues.

You intimated that Campo was not a success because of the presence of players like Kenny Wheaton, Kareem Larrimore et al. I said every team has busts regardless of the quality of the coaches. Listing a bunch of players who could not hack it hardly devalues his ability as a coach.

My point was pithy and accurate. Your point was inaccurate. Terribly, terribly inaccurate.

I'm bringing balance to the intimation Fuzzy made that Campo was a success because of players like Kevin Smith, Darren Woodson, James Washington, Anthony Henry, Kenny Gant, Rashean Mathis, and Larry Brown. Countering your point, listing a bunch of players who could hack it hardly increases his values as a coach either. My point was very accurate. Those DBs were coached by Campo and they failed. You can't focus solely on the successes while ignoring the failures, and vice-versa.

The bottom line is I find it very sucpicious that Campo was #2 on coach Wade's list of secondary coaches. Now, if coach Wade tells us Campo wasn't even on his top 20 list (which he will never do because that would really piss off Jerry), it would just show us that Jerry is on another one of his ownership cycles. This would be cycle #2 of Jerry hiring a head-strong HC to build the team, and after the team is strong Jerry says, "Thanks HC. I'll take it from here." He then hires subservient coaches so he can once again run the show his way.

Regardless......I've said it before: Dave Campo is a nice guy and I wish him well. I have nothing personally against him, I just dont want to see that Dominos-in-the-locker-room mentality creep back into Valley Ranch.

Campo wasnt the secondary coach for any of those players chachi but you keep trying.

As has been stated before all coaches have players that cannot perform. Not all coaches have a slew of players that succeed. Simply repeating your comment and then using a cliche doesnt make your argument valid. Of course you have to look at failures but

a) he wsant the DB coach for those guys and not DC for most of them
b) his amount of failure is not disproportionate to other coaches. houck failed with page garmon and lehr for example yet succeeded with allen diehl and donaldson.

Oh and Wade already relaxed Parcells iron fist in the lockerroom mentality last year. But you keep up that fear mongering if it makes you feel better.

So Joanie, you think every HC and DC steers completely clear of coaching positions? Wow!!! Talk about blurring reality. Oh BTW, Donaldson was selected to 4 Pro Bowls long before he played for Houck. It's always better to give the complete picture. :) However, when it comes to coaching positions, Campo can't hold Houck's jockstrap.

No im not saying that but its readily apparent that what you are wanting to do is blame Campo for anything that he possbily could be blamed for and then refuse to give him any credit for anything that he was directly involved with.

Essentially what youre argument boils down to is that it doesnt matter that he had 3 straight years of top 9 finishes in Jax or that he consistetnly put up top ten pass defenses over the decade and a half he was here in Dallas because Larrimore, Goodrich and Ross flopped when Zimmer was the DC/secondary coach.

There is bias and then there is bias I guess.

Actually I'm playing devil's advocate with you. It was apparent all you wanted to do was give credit for anything he could possibly be credited for and then refuse to give him blame for anything he could be blamed for. Sometimes you have to give a little does of reality when someone likes to look at things with rose colored glasses or poop-colored glasses (in case there's kids reading). If you're original post was completely negative (like mine was), I proabably would have posted something like you did. Sorry, but I'm very bored with no Cowboys football to watch.

Ive stated repeatedly that he is a dishrag and a poor head coach but I feel you the offseason is boring.
