Hate to break it to ya, but our passrush has been virtually non-existant against teams not from New York.
  • 10 sacks in 2 games vs New York teams.
  • 5 sacks in 3 games vs Non-New York Teams.

And in two of those last 3 games, the Defense has been flat out bullied. Not surprising to be bullied by SF, but they got bullied by Arizona too.

Then on top of that, playing Micah as a passrusher has been one of the biggest issues in our run defense because he is either running himself out of the play looking for a sack or getting bullied by blockers, be it OLine or TE/FB.

So if you can't stop the run, it won't matter if you can't stop the pass.

Ya, it is not pretty at all.
I think like last year it coincides with injuries in the secondary, team are able to get the ball out faster which hurts the pass rush. That said it hasnt been as lethal for sure regardless

Diggs injury definitely does not help.

Yet, that doesn't excuse what we have seen from the D, especially from Parsons as a Run Defender.

Losing Diggs and LVE is going to have a huge impact on our defense. Teams can now just focus on stopping Parsons and all of a sudden, our defense is going to be average maybe a little above it..

They need another DE, so Micah can go back to LB but they still need another LB also. Saw a list of potential players who could be traded pretty soon, we need to be in on some of that action on D BUT would that make a big difference if the O is not clicking.

Initially, I said Micah in the middle, but now I'm leaning towards Damone Clark...nothing like responsibility to make a youngster grow up. Hand Clark the keys to the defense for a game or two to see if he can be the man in the middle.

what sucks is looks like our secondary is not up to the hype at all and is just terrible. Micah at lb will help against the run but does it matter if they can pass all over us.
Our pass rush is basically gone without Micah
Those SF receivers were wide open a lot. Cowboy DBs were trailing 3-10 yards behind. Purdy and his wide outs had a field day on the crossing patterns. It is not just the linebacking.

...that was on DQ scheme plans. I telling ya, they did not prepare enough. Quinn probably thought, like I thought.

Pressure the QB, and mistakes will happen. They got no pressure, mistakes didnt happen.

Won't happen. But If actually seeking to make an impact, and depending on compensation, possibly attempt to trade for Danielle Hunter (6 sacks in 5 games), who is reportedly likely to be shopped by Minnesota prior to hitting free agency in 2024. Move Parsons to LB and let him both blitz from the LB position in certain situations and play DL depending on down & distance, etc. Barring injury & if/when LVE returns, you'd eventually have Parsons, LVE, and Clark as the top 3 LB's...with Lawrence and Hunter as the starting DE's.

.....They said, Micah will move back. But then, that takes away from our DL, who Micah gets double teams.

Leaving advantages for others. Williams to LB? Or do they bring someone up?

..your thoughts?
Who said this?

FA class at LB probably one of the weakest positions next year. I foresee some more high picks on LB next year.

I’m excited to see Micah back there, just to see if they make him a all over the map wild card.

Plus I’d love him to figure out some type of up the middle pressure.

I also don’t think we have much else to offer.

He needs to be at Linebacker 90% of the time anyway. He's too small to play DE and we're getting gashed.
