It's pretty safe to say right now that Rod Smith is considerably more of an unknown talent than either McFadden or Morris.

Nevertheless, I can't help but think if Smith gets a chance to display his talents enough, he'll give the offense a nice boost.

For the limited amount of reps that the Cowboys have allowed him to take he has definitely acquitted himself impressively.

Suffice it to say, he appears capable to supply the sort of power and versatility that should lead the team to winning ways.

I like Morris, he has looked explosive when he gets his chances (which have been very limited). But since Morris is a bruiser and a volume back the more he touches the ball the better he gets. I think we'll be ok for the next 6-weeks if the defense show-ups for a least 3 qtrs.
Man ,he got 3 touches for,,,CHECK THIS OUT NOW,,,3 YARDS TOTAL Sundayo_O

I'd honestly go with Herschel Walker on over those guys.
I wanted to throw Lincoln Colman out there on that above quote you pulled but useless silliness adds nothing,,, that Rod Smith could actually be a very punishing late in the game(4th quarter) clock grinder,if our pass attack keeps improving with diverse effective play calling,,,,now onto something completely different,,,did ya'll see the completely wide open Commanders receivers 30 yards downfield on that #95's tipped Cousin's last pass B Jones pick six? They had TWO receivers crossing midfield fixing to be wide open,,, we got problems thereo_O

I would not be surprised if Smith did the best. I am not saying he will but it would not surprise me one bit.

Desire and effort cannot be overlooked. Morris and McFadden are just collecting a check these days.
I don't know what he would do with the chance, but I would like to see Smith get an extended look. I will say this:. He does look hungry.

DMC has been on ice this whole season so he will be fresh for just such an occasion. He will be the best RB on the team for the next 6 games unless Zeke is reinstated.

That really makes no sense........ you activate your best players

Plus we have to change all of our OL scheme for DMC
Not really. They use both man and zone blocking. They used less zone this year than last. It seems that the 2 new OL are a little more comfortable in man.

They were find with McFadden in 2015 despite no threat at QB.

McFadden had ball security issues this past preseason and imo is not as good as Morris in blitz pickup, but as far as speed and agility goes he is #1 there
Morris has good ball security, good blitz pickup / block skills, and the best vision, but lacks speed and agility, so I think he's our #1 short yardage back
Smith is the wildcard since he's had so few snaps we don't really know what we have, but in his flashes he looks to be decisive north /south and hard to tackle in the open field. jury still out on ball security and blocking
That is completely wrong. McFadden is by far the better blocker. It's common knowledge that Morris is considered a sub-par blocker and receiver.

Alfred Morris and it’s not close. If McFadden was better he would have been active instead of Morris.
