I'm rooting for Alf. He is a rhythm runner. He is the type that just "gets" going after playing a bit. If he can get some of that zone running Wasington 2012/2013 thing going on, you guys are gonna be happy. It will work with our Oline. It just has to develop a little. I've seen some shades of it a few times on his limited carries. I am honestly hopeful and usually I am a wet blanket when this kind of thing happens to the team. We'll see....

Damn good insight/ observation,,,
Sure,he could get hurt,,,
( helmet to helmet,non- call,,, just like what Denver done to Cam Newton, couple years back in game #1 of that season,,, blatant hits not flagged, that dude AIN'T EVEN GOT A SNIFF BACK OF WHAT HE USED TO BE LIKE,SINCE.)
Dak should know he'll prolly be in line for the ROMO treatment by the referee's and just plan on playing safe, smart, heads up ball,,, while making the opponent PAY with his legs.o_O

Morris will get the early touches...if he is gaining yds he keeps the job if he falters DMF gets his shot. Morris is up to speed and McFadden will need a few games to get his legs back. I would like to see what Smith has, this is a great opportunity for him. Doubt the other two will be back in Dallas next year.

Desire and effort cannot be overlooked. Morris and McFadden are just collecting a check these days.

what leads you to believe that? i know less about DMC, but Morris' character is extremely high. I severely doubt the "desire" and effort won't be there for him.

Morris? Smith? DMC?

Who do you start? Who comes off the bench and when? Do you go get someone?

DMC to start, Smith to get many carries. The three headed tandem with excel and the media will call them Run-DMC and we will then be discussing "what happens when Elliot comes back" My glass is half full baby :)

I like Morris, I really do, but other than his long run, I don't think we have had a successful drive when he has subbed in for Elliot, so I guess I don't see much from him - he is a huge dropoff from Elliot and I guess the way Smith runs is much more aggressive and I like it more. I should not have said Morris is just collecting a check, beause I don't really think that is his attitude

That's how I think it will most likely go. McFadden will need a game or two to knock the rust off. I still believe he's the better option by far when it comes to handling the load over the next six games. But, if Morris does play extremely well, I'm all for giving him the lead. All things being equal, McFadden is the better option. He can do things Morris can't.

One wonders why "the best running back we have not named Zeke" hasn't touched the ball once this season...

I'm not wondering at all.

Zeke has been healthy, and had a six game suspension looming over his head. History suggested he'd likely have to serve it. DMac has been kept fresh for this scenario.

He's definitely a huge drop off from Zeke. I think every RB in the NFL is outside of a couple. Was just questioning the "collecting a paycheck" part. And who knows, maybe Morris needs more than 2-3 carries to get going.
