Underrated: Mcbriar, Folk, Canty(To non Cowboys fans at least) Colombo

Overrated: Henry, Pac

As much heat as Roy has gotten I do not know if you could call him over rated anymore. As regards Henry, yes he is generally under rated (even by those not named educan).
Pacman- we will find out if he is over or under pretty soon.
I think Colombo might be under rated some.

yeah there is no way Roy is overrated anymore. everyone knows his status.

underrated: crayton, I think a lot of people give him guff and say he stinks etc. now....

overrated: TNew. --He is very, very good but most Cowboy fans rate him above where he ends up yearly all things considered.

underrated: Flo Adams. --He is maddening with his false starts but we as a fan base largely take him for granted.

Ironically TNew and Adams both probably rate about the same as their prospective positions compared to the rest of the league. Both top 10 guys but neither top 5 imho.

If anything RW is now underrated. His tackling ability and overall total tackles is still among the very best in the league at the position. His coverage issues are known but you have to balance the two and that hasn't been happening. He went from best player ever to the worst in many minds.

Henry: Henry is a very good player who for a few weeks each year outplays TNew by attacking the ball and making more big plays. But he can be targeted with double moves and he gets hurt more often than we'd like.

Jay Ratliff is the most underrated player on this roster and I think its by a long shot.

Most overrated might be Andre Gurode. He is really really good but most people think he is the consensus best center in the league.

I dont think thats the case at all.

Overrated... Tony Romo - Put him on any other roster (one that doesn't feature a top-3 TE and WR) and I will bet he ends up below average. Another nod to Marion Barber because he hasn't put up elite numbers but the consensus is he's a top-5 guy.

Underrated... Greg Ellis - Dude puts up 13.5 sacks (if I remember correctly and I may not) and people want to trade him. You can make the case for him being better than Ware (though I personally wouldn't). Another nod to Ratliff.

I have two different answers:

Fan Base overrated: Canty-- Hes good.. no doubt, very solid, but not head and shoulders better than Spears, who is my most underrated player by the fan base. Spears does an excellent job of freeing up the LBers to make plays, which is what a 3-4 DE is supposed to do.

Media Over rated: Hard to say, since there is such a bias against the Cowboys in the national media. Underrated by the media is TNew. He is without a doubt in the top 5 corners in this league but very seldom gets mentioned with the Bailey's of the world,, which i think he is better than anyway.

underrated: Roy. i agree with a few others who've said that if anything, Roy is now underrated. he is still a very good football player. he may not have been elite the last couple of years like he used to be, but he's still better than most at his position.

overrated: Ken Hamlin. most think he is the best safety on this roster now. i don't think so. and considering that he wants to be one of the highest paid safeties in the league, he is definitely overrated in his own mind. he's a good player and i'm ecstatic to have him, but he's not as great as he's made out to be. i saw him make lots of mistakes last year, but for some reason, only the mistakes of one safety on this team ever get brought up.

Methinks you are 'underrating' Ellis because you know his career in Dallas is about over and it will give you some pleasure in pointing that out in the near future that we lost an underrated player in Ellis (which will bring about the demise of Dallas). And of course, Romo has to be overrated bec. of the weapons he has (and once we lose Owens, he'll slide into mediocrity). Maybe Romo is overrated; but your analysis of why sucks.

Agree about Colombo. He and Kosier are both underrated. Kosier is above average but Colombo is a superior player. He's better than Gurode IMO.

Flo is still a top 5 LT. He does fine in run blocking. He does get beat at times by speed rushers but I don't see him as being overrated enough to matter.

Hamlin may be a tad overrated. He is definitely overrated himself if he truly believes he's the best safety in the league. I don't see him as being the top safety in the league by a big margin.

I don't think we underate Ellis, just sick of hearing him whine!!

BY the way, Ellis can do it all as a DE, stop the run and rush the QB. He may not be Strahan but he is a very good DE. As a LB he is still good against the run and a good pass rusher, just not so good in coverage.

Like I said, not underated just annoying and people are hoping Spencer can come in and make him a moot and mute point!

Under Rated...Brad Johnson. I don't even care for the guy myself, but I can't deny he has a calming influence.
