Whos the most underrated and overrated players on our roster?

Overrated: Patrick Crayton - A solid #3 receiver playing the #2 role out of necessity

Underrated: Jay Ratliff - A self-made 'beast' who does anything asked of him, and does it well.

Underrated... Greg Ellis - You can make the case for him being better than Ware (though I personally wouldn't).
I'd love to see someone try and make that case.

Offense:
Underrated - Kyle Kosier
Overrated - Marc Colombo

Defense: (non-Roy answer)
Underrated - Spears
Overrated - Canty

Underrated = Anthony Henry

Overrated (at least on the forum) = Isaiah Stanback

Surprised by some of the Hamlin being overrated posts. Dude had a great season. Probably one of the best by a Dallas safety in many, many years.

Overrated... Tony Romo - Put him on any other roster (one that doesn't feature a top-3 TE and WR) and I will bet he ends up below average. Another nod to Marion Barber because he hasn't put up elite numbers but the consensus is he's a top-5 guy

HAHAHAHAHAHAH

Tony Romo excelled at the Pro Bowl. Is that "any other roster?"

Don't be bitter that we have a legit franchise QB.

I understand that frustration you must have given the piece of garbage that you have QB that your team invested so much in and appears to stupidly be putting all its hopes in.

But Romo is a legit top 5 QB. Denying it only makes you look like a bitter little hater.

Geez, this won't turn out predictable.

Okay, I'll play along.

Over Rated...Patrick Crayton. Natural #3 WR, not a #2.

Under Rated...Brad Johnson. I don't even care for the guy myself, but I can't deny he has a calming influence.

Hos, Crayton is our #3.

Now that being said, he operates much, much better out of the slot then he does when he's lined up wide.

Wow, I would have thunk Bradie James would have been mentioned as under rated -- I felt he could have gone to the probowl last year over a few of the guys who did make it...

Overrated- Hamlin, he had a good year but in no way does his deserve the pay day he is looking for. Needs another year to prove himself.

Underrated- Anthony Henry, a lot of people seem to think he is expendable. If he can stay healthy he is a great asset to the team.

UHM- Roy Williams, he is now where near as bad as some people would like to believe. Just like most seasons he will near the top in tackles.

Its tough because of all the attention the media pays to this team and how much attention we pay...

anyway

Underated- Mcbriar, james and kosier

Overrated- Roy Williams and Andre Gurode

I loathe ratings anyway. This whole recent debate about who the favorites are in the nfc makes me ill. Who cares. All this rating is done by people who have agendas, have less than needed information or have a column due soon and need a topic to stir people up.

If the cowboys were rated the 32nd team in the league by every publication I woulndt give a crap. I mean do people really care what yahoo sports or mike florio think? I sure dont.

sorry for rambling.

oh and to the skins fan who said you could make a case for ellis being a better player than ware.....please by all means try. I cant imagine one area of his game that ellis is better than ware. Please give it a shot though, We have 31 days to talk about something and at least you will bring some comedy to the forum.

How many guys get to the pro bowl only playing 2 downs? And don't say Roy Williams because he wasn't taken out on 3rd downs.

Its what you do on those two downs -- and 100 tackles is nice production for a two down guy.

overrated: Hamlin. He's a more than adequate S but is nowhere near "franchise player (meaning top-5)" status.

underrated: F. Adams. His false starts always seem to undermine & outshine his importance to the o-line. No way Romo and co. put up record numbers w/out Flo watching Tony's back! He gets his due (see his Pro Bowls), but again, you hear more talk about his penalties than his stellar pass protection.

If having 100 tackles is all it takes to be a 'pro bowl caliber' player, then yes, he and the 33 other linebackers who had 100+ tackles would be pro bowl caliber.

For the life of me, I can't think of 5 other safeties I'd rather have than Ken Hamlin. He's above average against both the run and the pass. His versatility is huge.

What!!!!!!!

This debate gets stale all the time if it's the weapons, on offense that makes Romo, the QB that he is then Bledsoe, would be in alot of Pro Bowls right now now would he.

He wouldn't be so overrated if he was a Commander now would he Romo, is the QB, you wish Campbell was.

I said deserved over some of the guys who made it from our team.

So Roy is one. Who are the other three?

Don't get me wrong, I like Hammer, but he doesn't scream "impact player" to me! He's solid and versatile, like you mentioned, but not a game-changer (which I'll admit is rare @ the S position).
disclaimer: I honestly believe his holdout has "earned" him this overrated tag. If he was signed and in camp, his name wouldn't have been mentioned nearly as much in this thread. JMO...
