Who's the QB for the Raiders game?

I mean I am pretty sure that ends quickly in practice when they say see #4 is more accurate, with a better arm, and more ability to read defenses and create plays, so the competition would last all of one practice. Players know who the best player is and they know it is Dak. People keep thinking "oh if they just let the others compete they could unseat him" but the players who are there every day know Dak is leaps and bounds the better QP compared to anyone else on the roster. While the NFC is overall weak at the QB position right now there is a reason Dak is unquestionably top 2 in the conference and that is not because one of the other QBs on the roster is number 1.
Do you speak to the players on a daily basis?

1) did you not read the post right before your post?

2) how the heck do you expect Lance to travel to the game, and play without knowing one play? He would have no idea what any of the other players were doing. Did you even think this through?
Sometimes you start posting a reply before another one is there. I may start typing, put my phone down for a couple minutes, finish typing, then hit post reply. So yeah probably didn't see being it was a few minutes apart. Makes sense though. I didnt see Rush playing so figured it was either Grier playing the whole game or splitting with Lance. Apologies if I angered or upset you for not seeing every post in a 5 minute interval :).

To the second point its preseason, stripped down plays so its not like he has to learn the whole playbook in a day. A lot of football terms and routes remain the same. Additionally they huddle and have 2-4 players that actually run routes. Whether the Cowboys wanted to test him out and put him in that situation was up to them. Obviously that wouldnt happen in the regular season so yeah gave it a couple of seconds of thought.

And they gave you the best opportunity for that possible. There was no analogous move in the draft of FA.

If Dak throws into coverage again like he did last year leading to a bunch of picks, we have a prospect to compete with him.
You really think Lance could beat Dak out in an open competition?

Not really particularly not at this point. Who knows what tomorrow holds?

If Dak continues to throw picks and rack up turnovers then last year's outlier becomes a trend. I would rather give Lance a shot and see what happens than pay Dak $50m AAV at that point.

You're right. It's dumb to think that Dak shouldn't bust his butt to improve his game out of fear someone is waiting to take his job away.
By all accounts he has been all off season

I’m sure some do lol
I’m not sure he could beat rush out right now though
He wasn’t squired for what he is today but what he might can be in a couple years
Rush will be the backup and mentor for him to learn

IKR... what has Trey done in the past two years (including getting beat out by Purdy and Darnold) that would make any one think it would be a competition???

And this group likes to call themselves realists. :lmao:

Of course not. At least not right away. The real question is what is better 2 years from now. Trey Lance or someone else plus 40 million per year plus whatever we could get in a trade. Or better yet Dak steps up and earns his money and is the difference in the playoffs and we make a conference championship game or God forbid a superbowl.

No, it's really dumb because Dak is a lot better than the other qbs.

I'm not disagreeing with on Lance as he hasn't taken 1 snap with the team but wasn't it last year Baker went to the Rams and played a game for them with only like 2 days....a real regular season game at that
