Interesting to me that Towne was my grandfather's last name and VanSant my grandmother's maiden name.

Yeah, songs like Saeglopur and Gong are perfect rainy day or long road-trip songs.

If you like Sigur Ros, you'd probably like the Mars Volta and Boards of Canada. Ambient-electronica-trance music is the best.

I'm not too big on the Mars Volta, I listened to them when I was younger. As I've gotten older I've gotten a little too particular and opinionated about what I listen to and watch. They were a little too screamy and sporadic for me. Lately, it's a lot of zen/meditation music just playing in the background and some gregorian chants by some monks. :laugh2: Sounds silly but it's actually really great if you meditate or just take some time to "cool off" and get in that zone at any time during the day.

I'll check out Boards of Canada though, thanks!

It is. Love the shoegaze. Radiohead is the best band of my generation IMHO.From 96 til now.

Yep, hard to beat Radiohead. I've never heard shogaze, I'll check them out thanks for mentioning them.

I'll have to work up my own list when sober, but I can see you and I agree on a lot.

Love them. Exit and White Eagle - wow, both awesome albums.

From Exit - Kiew Mission = most apt considering the Olympics are starting :)
