Why a good young WR needs to be found

What people seem to fail to realize is that whoever we take in the first or second will likely find it VERY difficult to be a starter on this team in 2007. Maybe 2008, more likely 2009.

I don't like the Idea of trading up for C.J., to many picks, to much $.

I personally feel the smart thing to do would be to trade up just a few spots (if needed) to get Tedd Ginn Jr. or Dwayne Jarrett.

I think either of these two could give us what we need at WR without the drastic cost.

I like Ginn for the immidiate impact he can have on our team, his deep speed and return ability could really open this offense up, and help keep T.O. and Glenn's legs fresh.

I like Jarrett for his overral game, I think he is the guy that could develop into our impact #1 receiver for the future. While I thinkn Ginn's impact will be more immidiate, I think Jarrett's impact will be a little higher long term.

I would be exctatic if we got either one of these guys, even if it meant trading up a few spots.

I still am high on the kid we just picked up out of the CFL. Let hope he pans out to be another diamond in the rough.

Calvin Johnson will not be a Cowboy on draft day. The price it would take to get the #2 or 3 pick would be much to high and completely unreasonable for us to pay. Yes we need a good young WR. But then, we already knew that. Also Peterson and Landry won't be Cowboys on draft day either. The fact is if we make a trade, we will be going down not up.

Our entire draft, every single pick, still doesnt equal the #2 pick. We'd have to trade a valuable player as well.

Not worth it

No problem. Tell me who will still be there when we are on the clock. Actually I'm not big into names because I don't know all the small details like the scouts do. For example, one player may or may not fit our scheme better than another player. That is how lower rated players are drafted ahead of someone rated higher. All kind of things affect a players rating and I only know what I see on TV and read.
I think these DBs may be available when we pick @ 22:
1. D. Revis - CB
2. R. Nelson - FS
3. A. Ross - CB
4. B. Meriweather - FS
5. C. Houston - CB

I still say we should take Reggie Nelson IF he was still available and IF we go for a DB w/ our 1st rounder. Who would you take out of these five?

I still think we should be DeWayne Jarrett if he is there at 22. He's going to be a lot better than people are giving him credit for.

Who did the Saints trade all of their draft picks too in order to get Ricky Williams?

They traded them to Washington, FWIW

Yeah. That's proof that the Commanders can screw up the draft no matter how many picks you give them.

Heck, that's probably what made Snyder and Co. decide that they'll just trade their picks away for crappy vets every year instead of try to find talent with them.:laugh2:

Was the ATM in control of the when they made that trade?

I think so. When did he take over? If I remember correctly, Snyder owned the Skins when Williams came into the league.

STOP crushing people's draft day dreams BDC! Me w/ Nelson and mm w/CJ..... :D Btw, who do you have us taking w/ our 1st?

What about Meacham (spelling) and give him a year to watch T.O. and T.G. prepare/workout/practice/eat ...

I would also suggest Bowe as well.

IMO Meacham is much more of a complete player who needs to refine his technique in everything. Bowe needs some coaching and needs to learn how to run routes....but I like Bowe better than Meacham...for now :D

Do you have the stats for both, height, 40 time ...

In looking at some games, either Bowe had problems with JaMarcus Russell's accuracy because even in watching some highlight tapes he would round off routes and just use his size to overpower DB's, something that wont happen in the NFL and get away with.

Meacham has the size, speed and hands, but like I said he is more of a Donte Stallworth kind of player. A motion WR to avoid the jams is what Garrett woudl have to do to get him the ball because he needs to use his hands better at teh LOS.

JMO....
