Why are all the "experts" saying Dallas is gonna suck?

What am I missing? Everyone is slobbering over the Commanders, while forgetting the Matt Cassell lead Cowboys beat them last year. While we are still facing the Romoless issues I think we are better on defense with Scandrick, more depth at DT and Byron Jones moving the FS. Better on offense as well with Zeke and a healthy Dez.

Well Garrett is still our coach, Romo is hurt again. Our Defense is on life support. Zeke is asking to be on the Substance abuse list.. But our Oline is great. Dez is the Man.. Witten is still consistent. And we have the best kicker in the game.

1. Romo is out and nobody is sold on a rookie qb leading us to victories in the REG season.
2. The Defense isn't getting any respect nor should it until we prove them wrong.

Why? Due to question marks about the QB position (Romo's health and Dakota's rookie status) and the defense as a unit.

To quote a once prominent poster here: "EMBRACE THE HATE."

Who said we're gonna suck?

All the preseason power rankings. Was also listening to NFL radio and Jim Miller and Pat Kirwin had nothing good to say. In fact, I've never heard Kirwin say much of anything positive towards Dallas.

Why do so many people care what the "experts" say? Do they really know who's going to be good or bad this year? Do we even need to watch the games this year, or just listen to the predictions on the pregame shows?

Also don't understand the "Power Rankings" that are already out. Can we at least wait until somebody plays a game? Sorry if this sounds like a rant, but really, let's go back to what Bill Parcells used to say: wait until Thanksgiving, then we have an idea of who's good and who's not.

I was using the term "expert" very loosely.

How can anyone really say we are better than last years 4-12 season? What have we done to improve? We did nothing in free agency...

Thornton is a complete bust...Durant is window dressing

Our best pass rushers suspended/not resigned.

Mcfadden put up 1100 yards in 11 games or so....So Is Elliot gonna be that much better to propel us???? I have my doubts.

Romo hurt again already...

As for the rest of the draft...I see little help coming.

We didn't take advantage of having one of the top waiver priorities.

And probably most of all...I have little faith in this defensive coaching staff.

Not to sound like a downer...but that is the reality we are facing...

Thornton is now a "complete bust" after one training camp. Hmm. Elliott much better than McFadden, a healthy Dez and the return of Scandrick. That alone makes us better.

I was using the term "expert" very loosely.

When it comes to the Cowboys, predetermined assumptions beat out the facts every time. I can just look at this roster right now and see this team is so much better equipped than the 2015 team, and reason one is Dak.

And remember, last year the mantra was "just hold on until Romo comes back"? I don't get that sense this year. With Prescott there's a genuine belief in success. Did anybody truly feel that way with Weeden and Cassel at the helm last year?

I am trying to understand the love affair with the Giants. Their first line didn't get a first down in 2/3 of their possessions this preseason, and they never scored, yet people are actually expecting them to contend for the division?

A lot of experts are picking philly to win the division. Lol not happening.

I don't think Dallas will suck but don't see them as contenders.

We went 1-11 last year without Romo and are without Romo. Our defense is bad and we're starting a rookie QB.

Here's a few reasons why:

1) Teams don't often have a lot of success starting a rookie QB. Sure there are some examples - Flacco, Wilson, Luck - but there are also some examples of a young QBs struggling. This team can't win a lot of games if Prescott struggles. NOTE, I am not saying he will definitely struggle, but he could.

2) The defense has questions. Yes, Jones at FS is nice, Scandrick back is great. But the defensive end spot is really questionable. I mean be honest with yourself.......... if the Commanders, who you think are overrated, trotted out Mayowa, Irving, Crawford and Tapper as their DE rotation to start the season, you'd laugh at them and talk about how they suck.

3) As much as a problem McClain has been, he's better than Hitchens.

Often times when you see rookie QBs do well, such as Wilson, they were supported by good to great defenses. This team does not have a good defense. It has a defense that most Cowboys fans are hoping can at least be better than last year and be around league average to slightly above league average.

So it's not surprising that some experts think this could be a down year. There are actually good reasons to doubt this team. Doesn't mean they will be right but it's not like they don't have a decent rationale for thinking this could be a down year for the Cowboys again.

They can say whatever they want, we'll still play the games and they'll not be held accountable for any predictions they make. Every season, those that make predictions are wrong about several teams and I am hoping we are one of them but that doesn't really matter, gonna watch them play, gonna root hard for them and gonna come back here if they suck and hammer them, it's what we do. It's not that I don't appreciate the fact they fight hard but that's what they're paid very well to do.

The beauty of this game is that it all gets settled on the field of battle and not on radio, TV, the internet or newspapers.

Why are all the "experts" saying Dallas is gonna suck?

Because they are paid to be objective, not to post on a Dallas Cowboys fan board.

Most experts like our offense but don't trust the defense. Washington still looks like the team to beat. I can't disagree unless we can hold the line until TR returns.

Well the division isn't exactly chock full of Arizona Cardinals or New England Patriots level teams. Other than maybe Philly who has no real supporting cast offensively to help Wentz, the other three teams probably have as good a shot at winning the division as the other teams.

Be careful of putting too much into preseason results. Teams have looked great in preseason and sucked in the regular season and some teams have looked inept in preseason and been fine in the regular season.
