Why are all the "experts" saying Dallas is gonna suck?

Dallas is a complete mystery right now. It's fair to question them. They're relying on a rookie 4th round QB and a bunch of bargain bin DEs.

Yes, and fact that Cowboys refused to take advantage of their unusually high position on waiver claim queue reinforces media groupthink about how out of touch with reality the Cowboys organization always seem to be.

Garrett actually said they like who's on their roster as an explanation.

Yes I thought they would use their position to get the better practice players , but chose to sit on the sidelines !!!

Great point !!! Also they hate America's Team !!!!

Except that's really not true. As I pointed out, last year, most of the major publications had Dallas in the Top 7 in their power rankings. So this notion that places like ESPN and CBS and Bleacher Report hate the Cowboys and that's why they rank them low in power rankings isn't based in reality.

They just tend to not rank teams with rookie QBs and suspect defenses high this early in their rankings. It's not a bizarre rationale.

Thats true, but they never do anything we cant do, lol
It doesnt take a genius to say the teams that were in the playoffs last year are going to do good this year !
They rarely predict a team like Carolina rising up last year.
They just say the obvious, and go with what should be.
Dallas was 4-12 for good reason last year, and no one should expect them to be that bad again.

I think the titans are a team that will rise up this year, and make the playoffs.

"Experts"

I can remember when, after the 1st game of the 2014 season, they were calling us the worst team in the league.

Exactly. What were the "experts" saying in 2014? And, what happened? 12-4.

What am I missing? Everyone is slobbering over the Commanders, while forgetting the Matt Cassell lead Cowboys beat them last year. While we are still facing the Romoless issues I think we are better on defense with Scandrick, more depth at DT and Byron Jones moving the FS. Better on offense as well with Zeke and a healthy Dez.

I don't think you guys are going to suck this year, but you can't blame analysts who think losing Romo will hurt your team in the short run. Dak is a mid-round rookie who was viewed by many scouts as a potential starter, but currently a project. That said, I do think Dak can provide an element of surprise and keep you guys treading water early on in the season, especially if your coaches get creative with him. Alfred Morris really shines the best with a QB that can make plays with his legs.

I'm definitely not writing in a "W" against you guys. I expect a very competitive game next week. Our rivalry is filled with wacky, bizarre games that only seem to happen when our two teams play each other.

In regards to my Commanders, I'm cautiously optimistic, but for the last decade, after the few times they've made the playoffs, the following seasons were down years. I really hope this year is different. That said, I do think we are on the right track, but I'm definitely not crowing them NFC East champs yet. They have to show me results. We have one of the toughest games on our schedule Monday night.

The good news for you guys is this season should be a lot more interesting and entertaining for you than last year was, regardless if your record is good or bad, because it's fun to watch a young QB develop, especially if he flashes greatness.

I prefer not to be rated highly in the media. I remember the year we went 12 and 4 was the year that most, including me, thought that we were going to flip that and go something like 5 and 11. We lost Ware and Hatcher, and I believe Sean Lee went out early, so the defense was expected to be atrocious that year. Also, nobody expected Murray to put up the performance he did. It seems like when the media expects us to do great, we perform mediocre. When they overlook us, we surprise them.

They obviously read too much of this forum.
