Why are certain posters on this site so defensive?

The 2009 draft was not as bad as the 2006 one.

in all reality....to me its because its the same posters posting the same nonsense constantly complaining about the things we cannot change....to me sports are to be entertainment....not such a downer

That is completely untrue. How you state your criticism has no effect on whether there is a backlash or not.

Being intelligent in your point of view may lessen it, but if you are critical, there will ALWAYS be some backlash.

There are very few people you can get away with critiquing, Wade is certainly one now that he is long gone, but up until he was fired you couldn't even go there without someone bringing up 13-3 and 13 pro bowlers, or however many it was.

There are however-many-thousand fans on the site, you'll get pushback. But thread consensus, or the consensus of the serious posters is rarely going to go against a thoughtful critical assessment (or a thoughtful positive assessment, for that matter). You'll get intelligent disagreement, but that's to be hoped for and expected in a forum.

Answer-- no, they're not... so apparently you ARE allowed to be upset about whatever you feel like being upset about...

But apparently, if you had your way, those who disagree with you would not be able to express THEIR opinion...

No, it's not... but it seems you don't realize that the coaches mostly responsible for that debacle are no longer here... Wade got fired, so you probably ought to be satisfied about that...

It would appear that you get grief because people don't like your endless negativity, or your basic posting style... perhaps you should ponder that fact, and see if you can find another way of getting your point across... in the meantime, bear in mind that this is a MESSAGE BOARD, which means the free exchange of ideas; you're allowed to post your opinion, but you must accept that people might take exception to that opinion... as long as they don't break the rules, they're allowed to do that too...

Listen, if my team sucks and will continue to suck for the foreseeable future, I'm gonna point that out. It's not like I'm happy about it. Don't kill the messenger. You're going to have up years and down years as a fan of any team. If you go into each season thinking everything's rosey and the Super Bowl is in our grasp I question your objectiveness.

I'll never check my brain at the door to root for my team. It's not necessary.

I have just as much of an issue with those who can't ever be positive. Nothing we ever do is good.

The only people who get "attacked" are the posters who never have anything positive to say about this football team. People get sick and tired of their useless drivel.

There is no such thing as every aspect of a football team is bad, negative, and wrong.

Go on any sports team's fan forums and bash that team. You will get the exact same results. If you can't stand the backlash, don't throw the crap.

Joe Fan can't bring himself to criticize the team or the front office with a sufficient amount of honesty or depth, so the media and fellow fans take the brunt of their anger instead. Classic displacement.

Most of us are critical of the team. But some are so over the top that they get labeled. Don't want the label, don't spread the drama.

Again, this site is not unique. Go to a Rams forum and bash every aspect of the team. What response do you expect?

People are fond of saying that insanity is doing the same things over and over and expecting different results. What isn't sinking in?
