Why are people blaming Kellen Moore for the deep throw on 3rd?

I cannot wait for the All 22 to come out. Yes Noah Brown went deep.....BUT.....BUT....Dak threw it to him. Maybe the plan was for him to go deep to take the Safety with him thus opening the middle up for something else? All I know is....I highly doubt Noah Brown was the primary receiver on that play. If none of the action was open on the other side....perhaps Dak should have just given himself up to take a sack and force them to use a timeout. But Kellen Moore did not throw that ball deep....Dak did. Heck, even if none of the other wide receivers had created enough separation and Dak did not want to risk throwing an interception....he still could have given himself up and taken a sack to force the Jags to use their TO.

And this is not a bash Dak thread or a bash Kellen Moore thread....this is just a response to so many upset with the play call.

You run the ball, if it was 3rd and under 5, maybe a pass to end the game, but at 3rd and 10, you run, make them burn their timeout and punt them deep..it’s not even hindsight, everyone watching knew they should have ran the ball..it was beyond stupid and yet again another reason why this team will never win with this coach

I don't fault throwing on third down. We convert the first down, the game is over. But the deep pass?
I do agree with @NoLuv4Jerry that we should have given Dak some options that involved either taking the easy throw or taking the sack to let the clock keep running and making the Jags burn their timeouts.
Smart coaches plan for such scenarios.

Nice post. I was wondering if it was dialed up that way or if Prescott got too big for his britches. I can’t act like I know the answer, but it did have me wondering. It was just too bizarre to have actually been called that way.

This is the frustrating aspect in determining who is the real problem? Is it Dak or is it KM? On any given pass play if 3 receivers go out and a TE, it's not KM's fault if Dak throws the ball to the guy who is most covered or in the worst position to make a play. It's not if the play coming in from the sideline is..."OK Dak. We are going to send CD here, and Gallup here, and Schultz there, but you MUST throw the football to Brown because I say so."

Dak has neither the skill nor ability to throw deep. Any deep pass by Deek is gonna be another INT.
How did we get stuck with this $40 mil Dreck?

It was a dumb playcall. They lined up in an empty formation so no threat of a run at all...the defense saw it and knew it was an all-out pass. Jags drop 6 in coverage vs. 3 receivers so shocker...no one is open, especially when all of the WRs are running go routes. Just comedy. This team is dumb.

The play is at the 12:13 mark

Been having this right all postgame. I throw it every single time in that situation.

The way I see it, coaches bear the blame when the team just looks listless. Players bear the blame when the execution on plays just flat out sucks.

You run the ball in that situation.

Jags have one time out. They need a FG to tie the game. That one time out is essential to them. If you take that away from them you limit their possible plays.

Its a no brainer. Especially when your defense is poroucios like ours was.

He wasn't the primary, it was a dumb choice by Prescott. He cost us the game with that throw and that awful INT at our own 25-30 yard line
