Why are players on other teams so good compared to ours?

You're right, $40MM isn't going to stop someone from acquiring a QB. The bad news is Daks contract is backloaded so the cap hit next year is $49MM, then 52MM in 2024. Those numbers could be trade stoppers, however with just two years left on his deal some time may be able to wiggle around that if they are able to get him to agree to an extension.

I don't think Dallas is looking to deal him his contract will likely get restructured and extended in the end I think his last contract will be his largest deal and will be less relatively speaking. I would not argue with anyone that the QB position is out of control contract wise, I think all of them are vastly overpaid. No doubt the position is important but without key parts around you, that QB will struggle. I have no doubt in my mind Rodgers would love to have Adams back but there was no way they could afford Rodger and keep Adams

I don't see Dak going anywhere either, at least before 2024. I'm hopeful they can create enough cap room to not have to restructure him again, but you are probably right. They are running out of years to kick money into though. Where I will disagree is that Dak's next contract will be less. Dak and his team worked the Cowboys flawlessly before his last deal, not sure why he would take less this time around. I bet he is back within the top AAV again once he signs a new deal. Is that a good idea or not is a valid debate. I would go as far as to say that unless you have a top 5 guy I would be against giving someone an extension to be honest. You commit $40-50MM to the QB position and you lose 2-4 impact players elsewhere, and it becomes very difficult to field a complete team, unless you just go all in like the Rams of last season. Seems to be a lot more stories of teams falling down the standings than rising after inking QBs to huge deals.

Do a better job and start banning them then. I know they're trolling because they will try to paint a narrative for a poster before they even reply.

If someone responds to them praising Cooper Rush they will blatantly lie and act like you think Dak is Josh Allen or Mahomes. They're literally derailing every thread I see them in. They're legitimately trolling and I wouldn't be surprised if it's one person on multiple accounts. On Old message boards mods had a golden rule about trolls...they would let them make it..as long as they were funny!
Here in America we have this lovely little thing called freedom of speech. Why do you care if the opinions of others don't line up with your own? Like it or not, as it stands, there's a valid argument for Rush over Dak. He's 5-1 as a starter and aside from the first half of the Philly game, he's managed the offense well. Personally, I don't care who plays as long as the team is winning, but silencing the opposition is a precursor to tyranny, and I really don't want to see this board go down that road. Just something to consider...

I mean really.........how dumb are some of these trolls? Its like they cant see the writing on the wall. This team is 4-2 with Cooper Rush leading the way with one of the worst offenses in the NFL. Cowboys finally have a top 5 defense to pair with Dak and our offense. With Dak coming back its like they have no clue how good this team will be. Maybe its panic or maybe its just pure football stupidity.

What do you think? Panic or stupidity?

Probably some of both. I think some are afraid of success as well afraid of success with Dak.

which is why I said relatively speaking, yes it will still be big but cap will also expand from where is it now, I highly doubt his will be a NFL leading contract as it was when he signed this one. Lastly a bit off topic you are right Dallas could lose some key player which is why Dallas is not out spending the 20 mill they currently have under the cap, that money can be rolled into next year. I know many who would love to spend up against the cap but I do believe there is a reason beyond Jerry being cheap it is to be able to address major needs in following years

One things for sure, there is no GM who would want Dak Prescott for $40,000,000.00 per year.
.
I don't even think NYG would trade for Dak for Daniel straight up, or even if the cowboys sweetened the offer.
Then why are teams giving worse QB's like Kyler Murray and Derek Carr more money than Dak?

SO now we have to decipher between "blatantly lie" and simple disagreement.

Seems lot of people don't know or even care what a real troll is. They FEED the real trolls and throw troll accusations at people that simply disagree with them. If we banned THESE people..it would be a much nicer community.

40 mill is sitting at the bottom of going rates, You think any starting QB who hit FA will be looking at 40 mill? $40 mill is not even a starting point
It wasn't back when it was signed. It was the second highest contract.

Yes funny how that works, players all players look at FA market at the time they are FA. Had Dak asked for some middle of the road contract when he hit FA his contract today would have been well below market value. Dak is not stupid and his pay is well within the standard of NFL QB.

They're desperate.
What make you believe they're worse than Dak?
I just think you are out of touch with the market for QB's.

As far as what makes me believe that they are worse than Dak: I would say a sound base in reality makes me believe they are worse than Dak.

The wr is a tick above average and pretty thin for a SB run. On defense CB is the same way. So yes if there was a legit wr or cb that could be had they should look into it. They wont and its why they will always be better on paper than the field if the measuring stick is playoff wins.

You just proved my whole damned point. You read my whole post calling out this very argument and you still couldn't help yourself. That's sad. Also you do not have freedom of speech on a message board. I have no idea who told you that.

I think fans expectations are unrealistic and there’s a grass is greener on the other side mentality.

If you watch a lot of football and other teams, you should know that every QB misses throws, WRs drop balls, defenses give up plays, great rushers have games without sacks, good DBs get beat etc…

On here 1 bad game means the player or team is terrible and the sky is falling. It’s wild.

I think some have never competed in team sports, if you have ever played you get that the other team wants to win also and will play hard also. Like they had to tell Jerry back in the 90's when we would lose...the other team pays thier players also.

Could be. I enjoy the forums but man sometimes it feels like unless you’re an all pro the boards think the player stinks or is overrated. Parsons is the only one who feels unanimously liked and I remember after his first game without a sack someone sad he’s lost a step lol.

I think if fans watched more of other teams they’d realize how often good players still make mistakes or have clunker games.

I called you out on tattling to a moderator over something that's well withing the rules. Get over it.
