Why are players on other teams so good compared to ours?

There is a logjam in the NFC with no clear frontrunner with PHL, DAL, MIN, SF, TB in the hunt and I would not rule out GB or LAR just yet.

There is too much football yet to be played and as we've seen, every team is just one injured OL away from trouble. I do not recall seeing anything like this before but those that thought this game was all about those skill position players knows better now.

One thing for sure, we'd better hope Smith, Martin and Steele stay healthy because they are the reason this team went 4-1 with a backup QB.

Fans are looking for new blood. It doesn’t matter if a player on another team is average it’s a new player. Fans get tired of some of their own players and they want something new. You see fans all the time here getting all worked up over a player that sucked for another team. They always try and find something good about a player that went bust for another team, even if they have to dig up their college highlights from a decade ago. Some fans here acting like James Washington is going to be our savior at WR when he’s ready to play, despite having an average career in Pittsburgh.

Do a better job and start banning them then. I know they're trolling because they will try to paint a narrative for a poster before they even reply.

If someone responds to them praising Cooper Rush they will blatantly lie and act like you think Dak is Josh Allen or Mahomes. They're literally derailing every thread I see them in. They're legitimately trolling and I wouldn't be surprised if it's one person on multiple accounts. On Old message boards mods had a golden rule about trolls...they would let them make it..as long as they were funny!

Funny fades, apparently.

I agree with you but if we can get a young 1 tech on the defensive that would change everything. Brown from Carolina would give us the best defense in the NFL. I would give Carolina a first and a 3rd for him.

I really like Brown and although I'm not usually a fan of trading in season, he would be a perfect upgrade. He's young and 2 1/2 years before free agency.

I'm not sure what the Panthers would ask but, it would have to include one of our current DT's like Galimore because they not only need draft picks they need low cost replacements.

However, I'm positive the Cowboys aren't giving up a 1st for a 1 Technique.

I mean really.........how dumb are some of these trolls? Its like they cant see the writing on the wall. This team is 4-2 with Cooper Rush leading the way with one of the worst offenses in the NFL. Cowboys finally have a top 5 defense to pair with Dak and our offense. With Dak coming back its like they have no clue how good this team will be. Maybe its panic or maybe its just pure football stupidity.

What do you think? Panic or stupidity?
In a nutshell, they just don't comprehend football.

I don't think Dallas is looking to deal him his contract will likely get restructured and extended in the end I think his last contract will be his largest deal and will be less relatively speaking. I would not argue with anyone that the QB position is out of control contract wise, I think all of them are vastly overpaid. No doubt the position is important but without key parts around you, that QB will struggle. I have no doubt in my mind Rodgers would love to have Adams back but there was no way they could afford Rodger and keep Adams
Gb offered Adams more than what he got w/ LV. He didn't want to play w/ Rodgers anymore.

Here in America we have this lovely little thing called freedom of speech. Why do you care if the opinions of others don't line up with your own? Like it or not, as it stands, there's a valid argument for Rush over Dak. He's 5-1 as a starter and aside from the first half of the Philly game, he's managed the offense well. Personally, I don't care who plays as long as the team is winning, but silencing the opposition is a precursor to tyranny, and I really don't want to see this board go down that road. Just something to consider...
This is a private message board. Freedom of speech doesn't apply.

Can they be THAT blind? Must be hoping on an injury.

Meanwhile their long lost hero Dalton just threw two pick sixes Thursday night to lose the game. LOL

I post straight up strong points and most of them are completely accurate. You cant handle it because you are typically on the wrong side of most of them. Dak for one over the last 7 years has made a complete mockery of you and any of you that said he was backup/average.

You backed Dalton and Rush like they were conquering heroes and they both took a big dump in your lap. I could go on for hours on all the things you have gotten wrong.

All of these crazy trade ideas just has me shaking my head. Why is it that every player that is disgruntled does everyone think is a perfect fit for us?

Keeping in mind that the salary cap absolutely puts limits on what you can do, what are we missing right now on defense? Would I like to have a Warren Sapp in the middle of our D line? Sure, but that is gonna cost you big time. Would I like to have an alpha male 1 receiver like Tyreke Hill? Sure.

How good are the dolphins? Do you honestly think you can judge our receiving corps right now? After 6 games played and 5 with cooper rush? Any WR that would be a 1 or 2 for us is gonna cost either serious draft picks or 15 million plus per year. From what I have seen from Noah Brown, I am absolutely ecstatic for him to be our number 3. That guy catches EVERYTHING thrown his way. Im good with him AND HIS SALARY. Oline? You know we just signed Peters, right? THey arent adding an olineman... period.

Defense???? Are you serious? Our line is young and tenacious. Im good there. Linebackers? Arent we getting a rookie that they have serious high hopes back right now? He was there last week, but just getting his feet wet. Any linebacker that could make an impact aint on no trading block.

We are good IMo... we just need our 160 million dolar QB to come back and be an actual playmaker and not a bus driver. If the Eagles are the "Best," team in the NFC, Id say we are going to the SB.

Between this site and the old one, Ive been on these boards for probably 15 years. I have never said we were going to the SB, but Id say this team is as good as any in the NFC. Stay put.
There are a lot of reasons. Mostly I think people are interested in “kicking the tires” on guys they think may help us. Every team can improve themselves and should constantly be trying. At times trade deadline acquisitions can be bargains as the team is in sell mode. Also you only take 50% of the cap hit because the year is half over. Looking into a player doesn’t mean you must sign them, just that at the right price they may make your team better.

many positions you play multiple guys so if the potential acquisition is better than your worst guy in the rotation it is a plus and it also gives you injury protection. Many teams fill their holes in free agency, we don’t, so a lot of the positions fans would have liked to have sured up are still weaknesses. I’ll use one example - DT. You say our DL is good and it is, but we have had issues stopping the run for years. We lost last year in the playoffs because we couldn’t stop the run, we lost the last playoff game we played before that against the Rams because we couldn’t stop the run. We lost last week in a battle for the division lead because we couldn’t stop the run. Tampa ran for 152 yards against us and basically ran at will and other than our game has averaged around 50 yards per game. It’s a recurring theme that we can’t stop the run when we need to most and we ignore that every off-season in free agency. I can’t see how any Cowboy fan can watch our games and not see how a good DT can help us. And remember when analyzing our pass rush, our DTs are never doubled and seldom even have a RB helping on them because the focus is always on our edge rushers so they probably look a little better than they actually are. This defense would absolutely be elite with a stud DT IMO.

So using your words, we get ran on most games... yet didnt we only allow 1 TD in each of the first 5 games? Havent we allowed... I could be wrong, but only 3 rushing TDs in our first 6 games. Where does that rank us in the entire league.

If I could snap my fingers and make Warren Sapp appear on our roster, I would. BUT, I live in the real world. Name me ONE ELITE DT that we could acquire right now and not kill our current roster and cap situation.

Those are not even close to my words. When we need to stop the run in big spots we can’t. Don’t use one stat to purposely misrepresent the situation. Do you watch the games? If so when we play good teams and we need to stop the run in a big spot, so we? Did the Eagles run all over us even when we knew they were running to go up two scores? Did a poor SF offense run all over us to win the playoff game last year? Did a Tampa team down some weapons and with a pieced together OL still run all over us? If you can’t see this team struggles to stop the run you aren’t watching or watch football differently than I.

You don’t seem to understand. You don’t need to acquire an elite DT to help this team. Just better than some in our rotation or one with a specific skill set to utilize. One DT? Derrick Brown. Carolina clearly looking to re-tool and he is dirt cheap. But the simple fact is We have a lot more cap space than other teams that still acquire players.
