Why are the Dallas Cowboys so hated?

I've been a Cowboy fan all my life. They were hated when they were winning and now their hated because Cowboy fans talk like they are relevant every year when they are just mediocre or slightly better. Even NFL players on other teams get sick of hearing about the Cowboys so they can't wait to play them. And like this opening game some Cowboy fans still think they had the better QB. Just makes you laugh and hate these clowns.

1. Dallas fans are mostly obnoxious and drone on endlessly about past championships.

Of course. How I left that off my list, I don’t know.

I’ve had people tell me, “I don’t hate Dallas… I hate Dallas fans.”

The other thing about the fans and I've seen this since I became a fan, Cowboys fans struggle with admitting they lost to a better team, there has to be an excuse like the refs cheated us.

I could always tell a certain kind of Cowboys fan by how many times they used the word "if". If the ref doesn't miss that call to John Mackey in the SB, if Jackie Smith doesn't drop that TD pass, if Swann gets called instead of Barnes, if the ref doesn't miss that call on the Dez's catch, If Jimmy doesn't leave after SB 4 we get 4 in a row but "if" is a huge part of the game of football.

The Cowboys lost to a better team Thursday night but they played them straight up, That's good enough for me.

most people say its because of the fans as if every team doesnt have the same kinds of fans we do

and you have to factor in social media so alot of the hate isnt hate its just guarenteed to get a bunch of likes and views

i can say the cowboys got blown out against Tampa and Dak didnt play well and it would get thousands of likes and comments agreeing with me

90% of every NFL fan I have ever encountered in casual conversation dislikes the teams in their teams division AND Dallas.

Like....Bronco fans even hate Dallas.

I guess it's the America's Team crap.

Jerry's mug and mouth don't help. Promise that.

Partly it's that we have the most whiny fan base and people get sick of it. Plus there are fans in other cities that root for the Cowboys instead of their local team and for some reason these people tend to skew high on the d-bag scale.

we are not the most hated team by a long shot, So hated or so loved because of the passion the cowboys bring out of lovers and haters, I think cowboys nonlove depends more on what part of the country you are in, any NFC audience area other than the cowboys area are going to speak harshly about our beloved Cowboys.

Which NFL team do you think is more disliked that the Cowboys?

Several reasons.

1-We won a lot of games.Other Fans jealous of Cowboys success

2-Being called America's Team irks other fans.

3- Majority of the Northeast hates the South. Cowboys they consider South.

4- Jerry Jones lot of people don't like him for doing Tom Landry dirty.

5- People want to beat the best.

Depends on who you ask, when you ask, where the poll was taken, who was polled, what age group who did the poll. I saw a pool a few weeks ago that listed the bears and broncos as two of the most hated teams in sports, the Cowboys weren't even in the top ten. You could argue that we are the most popular team in football and in the top 3 of all sports. Personally I don't care who hates us, and I dont place allot of stock in Polls generally unless it is my own poll.

I understand the hatred from rival NFC East fans but literally everyone I’ve come into contact with since Thursday that isn’t a Cowboys fan (and even people that don’t watch a lick of football) are glad the Cowboys lost to the most successful football player in NFL history.

That doesn’t quite make a lot of sense to me. I understand the boys had a lot of success from the early 70’s to mid 90’s which I’m guessing that’s when most people’s parents were growing up. Is that where the hatred stems from? Their parents hated the success that the Cowboys had and the 5 rings we won during that ~25 year span, but the boys have literally won nothing but a couple playoff games in over 25 years now but people were raised to hate the Cowboys?

I often hear that it’s our fan base, but we fight with each other more than we fight with non-Cowboys fans so I don’t really understand the seeming overall consensus from ‘outsiders’ that the ‘Cowboys suck’ and we have a horrible fan base. I just don’t see it but perhaps I’m biased?
Do you have a great tradition of winning. Setting trends

Generally it seems the most popular teams are also the most disliked. Like I wouldn’t be surprised if the Yankees are the most disliked baseball team, Lakers in basketball; etc
