Why are there so many 1 year deals?

What are you talking about? I have said over and over they are both incompetent and refusing to spend money, What am I sucked about. You think They are competent and do spend money?
They spent tremendous amount of money on Dak, CD and soon to be Parson's. It is not about money, it is about how they chooses to allocate the money, which goes back to incompetence.

Is this a Cowboys thing to just sign players to one year deals now? We did pick up a player or two that got 2 years, but the majority has a one year deal if I'm not mistaken. How exactly do you build a team and build continuity if you're only playing one season together. For some they may not even make it to the season without being cut.

What's the reasoning behind this, how can we build this culture up with one year deals? Please give your thoughts
1 Year deal means the player has to play well to get another contract. The player has no security. It's put up or shut up time. The Culture stuff is way overblown. In the NFL the rosters are churned over every year. Continuity is not a thing in the NFL. You just gotta get rid of the guys that are disgruntled. That's all you can do for the culture.

Jerry wants to show he is in and he is changing. he brought a few names in to appease the fans. but his long term goal is not actually improve the team and committ money. he is leaving an out for himself so next year he can do the same thing to generate hope and keep fans interested

They want to build a team through the draft. So they sign players to 1 year prove it deals. And the players also may want that, it is not ALL on the FO.
Here is possibly why.

They sign a player, to fill a hole, stop gap type player. Draft BPA, and if that draft pick works out, they have that 1 year players replacement for 4 years. If the 1 year player works out they can offer him a better contact the next year.

Or.
If the player on the 1 year contract plays well, he can get a better longer term offer from Dallas, or another team. If that happens, and Dallas' draft pick works out. Dallas can get a possible comp pick.

So it has nothing to do with being cheap. They are trying to build a team for a 4 or 5 year run.
it is just they need an elite player to take them there. That is where they go wrong.
lol if only we could have done some of these bigger deals maybe for 1 year or so sheesh!! 1 year deal, and we'll come back to it if you deserve it (not a great idea, but being tied to someone that's tying your cap up for years is painful!)

And if they did not work out? Release them taking the cap hit on the 2nd year, or 2nd and 3rd year.
Yeah, is it want fans want. So they can bag on Jerry about that also.

Talk about bags, maybe he can BAG off of the bags they'll be wearing on their faces this season if he doesn't do better

We are tanking again.

Last, this and next season will be rebuilding years.

I dont say it will be successful, i just think thats the plan.

I think they’re trying to maintain a interesting product with these signings.

I would rather them just tank. Play young guys and go be terrible.

Get a top 5 pick. Try everything possible to get Arch Manning who I’m basing on pedigree will be legit.

But being in the middle and drafting 10-15 is where we don’t need to be.

I will wait to see how Arch does this year before I jump on that train. But I am close behind it on the rails.

Because Jerry and company are stupid enough to believe that if the player plays well in his one year of service that he will be sympathetic to a low ball deal the next season since they gave him a chance.
