Why are we not seeing the problem

There are multiple problems, but a big one is clock management stupidity. It's third down, and a first down ices the game, or a running play that pigs up time and forces them to use their final timeout puts the other team in an extremely tough spot. There are a number of plays that might make sense, the most obvious being a simple run play to pig up as much clock as possible. Or a safe short throw that might pick up the first is not unreasonable. But a 40-yard bomb down the field? Are you kidding? That was a Christmas present to the other team. We stopped the clock and let the other team keep their timeout.

Clock management may not be this team's only problem, but it's a big one. Poor clock management makes you lose games you should win. I could live with it if we played a great team like the Eagles or the 49ers, and we played a great game from a smart game plan and did great clock management, but just got outplayed by a superior opponent. That I can live with. But we lost to an inferior team due to stupidity.

So the defense was clearly the reason we lost…

But…game on the line in OT and we have to count on Noah Brown. Ball in the chest dropped for an INT / pick 6.,
Its hard to blame it all on the defense when they created a turnover on the game tying/winning drive and ya can't move the chains.

Then the d stopped Jax in ot and the offense goofed it up again.

Blame it on the Coaching and the Grass!! We're cursed I tell ya

Yeah, the defense forced that Trevor Lawrence fumble that SHOULD have won the game for us. Then in overtime, I thought we were dead when the Jags won the toss, but the D got the stop. Cool, the game is in the hands of our offense, not our exhausted defense. We gon' win. Coola neato. Just drive down the field and .... pick 6, aw crap, thanks, Dak.

Noah Brown has proven to be a reliable receiver. Today he did well until that play. There's no excuse for his tip drill pick six. Dallas should have never been in that position.

Yea. It’s a shame he played so well until that play.

Again, this one’s on the defense. But we still need better WRs.

The Cowboys were behind the chains a lot today with runs of less than 2 yards.
After Lamb, Cowboys do not have a stud receiver. (Gallup is no where near 100%).
The defense is not getting after the opposing QB and that is exposing a poor secondary.
The defense is not rallying to the ball and gang tackling.

I believe Parsons should keep his mouth. The defense has been horrendous of late. I think our receiving core is okay. My biggest problem is the playcalling and execution.

I think losing 2 of our starting CBs has been a major issue.

Pass rush has also not been the same.

It has, but why do other teams maintain continuity, while it becomes apparent that there is a drop in talent on this squad? In the pass game, the DB's seem to have no safety help.

What team is doing what you’re referencing?

Losing 2/3 starters at CB is a massive blow.

I think Lamb is actually proving himself to be that NO 1 guy. He's been great this year, he's stepped up. I was not his biggest fan coming in to this year - all the talking and then the drops drove me nuts. We didn't lose this game because of not scoring enough or the WRs.
He is but he is it we have no one else thats why we lost.

Other teams lose key players at different times in the season. If they have no excuses, neither should Dallas. Better player development should help.

Again, what NFC playoff contenders do you feel like have a good chance to make a run with significant injuries?

Huh? The 49ers and Eagles are both better teams with more talent.

What injuries do they currently have?

Maybe I am missing something. I gave you the teams and now you say they are more talented. You originally asked me to name teams with injuries, which I did. They all have injured players. How could you ask, "What injuries do they currently have?" Look at their rosters for that information.

Lamb has been better than Coop when he was here.

This offense is not set up for a wide receiver to shine like some teams.

But why?

QB? OC? Or a combo of both?

I'll be honest, I wish we had held onto Garrett one more year, then fired him and grabbed the weirdo/comedy guy with Miami. I think he's going to end up being a really good coach. Jerry needs to rethink this whole thing. Retreads? Enough. If McCarthy has to go, get a young, bright guy. Not some old schlepp you can push around.

Miami looks to be turning it around under their new guy. Sirianni has turned Philly around. Shanahan was pretty young when he took over the 49ers. The Rams won a SB with a young guy.

Be bold Jerry.
