Why are we only team not working out FAs?

Did we do homework on Livings and Bernadeau?

yes we did, just because they didn't work out, doesn't mean we just saddled up and said urh! he got cut so we should sign him! They were FA in the off-season and we thought they would bring value to the team, sometimes you're right, sometimes your wrong. And with Bern still (IMO) being a quality back-up/starter they weren't that wrong.

If these FAs are so good, why are they available?

The OP is the same guy who said we should have drafted Floyd and then used our second and third to trade back up into the first with San Fran despite the fact that San Fran was looking to trade up, not down, and the Vikings had trade their second, third, fourth, and seventh round picks to get back up to 29. So it doesn't really surprise me that three teams would encompass every other team in his mind,

Miami signed OG Danny Watkins. Giants are working out OT Zebrie Sanders (Bills 5th rounder last year) and OT Steven Baker today. DT Kyle Love (ex-Patriots starter) working out for SEA today.

Yet, radio silence in Dallas. Aren't we kicking the tires on any OL or DL?

watkins is a bust. otherwise why would philly cut a former first rounder!!! they say he doesn't have the heart.

no idea who the other ones are....

OK.

T Ben Ijalana (2011 2nd rounder; signed by NYJ)
OL Braxton Cave (3 year starter for NOtre Dame; cheaper than Costa; signed by NE)
OL Philip Blake (2011 4rd rounder)
T Steven Baker (numbers game in KC after drafting Fisher & resigning Albert; NYG working out today)
DT Marvin Austin (2011 2nd rounder; DET worked out)
DT Ron Brace (perhaps not a fit with 4-3, but can it hurt to look at a run-stuffer with a 2nd round pedigree?)
OG Danny Watkins (2012 1st rounder; signed by MIA)
C Matt Tennant (2010 Remington Award winner as best college C; again, cheaper than Costa)
DT Everett Dawkins (2013 7th rounder; 41 game starter at 3-tech at FSU)
OL Jake Scott (starter for PHI at RG last year)
DT Sione Fua (2011 3rd rounder; numbers game in CAR after Louetulei & Short drafted)
DT Kyle Love (Started for NE last year; workout by SEA today)
OT Zebrie Sanders (Bills 5th rounder last year)

Not saying I know more than the scouts, but seems like someone on this list is at least worth working out.

Why because the names you listed were drafted high? Or started games for teams? have you actually looked at these guys to see why they were cut, why they flamed out so fast.. If you're getting a 2012 1st round pick, its not because he's a guy you want on your team. Maybe you should let the scouts who do research these guys, get a pass, if they don't deem him a fit for this team, regardless of how another team may feel .

Geez. There are some real disappointments in that group!

I guess Dallas was looking at players since we just brought one in.

none of these make me go wow. they are Jags, guys who are getting their last chance, etc.

it sounds like you just want team to do something for the sake of doing something to satisfy your need for something to be done.!!!!

The Cowboys have made four trades and claimed another player. They have been more active than most teams and have been as active as any. Your criticism is completely unfounded.

Listen pal, I've been a fan of this team since 1975, played college football with Jerry Jones Jr., went to every 90's Cowboys Super Bowl, & now do college scouting. I've forgotten more about football and this team than you will ever know.

have you considered maybe they did'nt like what they seen at those positions

Yes. And that's certainly possible. But unless they plan to sign a vet at OL or DT after week 1, I do not think they have done enough in this post-53 cut period to churn the DT/OL part of the roster. Just never thought that guys like Arkin, Weems, Cohen, Bass, Hayden would all be on the final 53. Hope I'm proven wrong.
