Why are we portrayed with such disdain by the media?

I think a lot of the disdain came from the media explosion as it can exploit everything and anything.

Even though some of it was there in the 80's. Because Dallas won, then the America's team thing. The media decide to love the Steelers and hate on Dallas.
ESPN came along, and though favorable as Dallas won the 3 SB's. It was persons such as Chris German started hating on Dallas.
Because he picked a Buffalo - SF SB every year for like 12 years. You could hear the disdain in his voice at times.

Then along come the explosion of social media.
Of course no SB in 28 years don't help, but it does not apply to other teams in the same situation.
Truth! If you ever get to see the NBC pregame and post-game of SB 27 victory 52 7 over the Bills, the crew all picked the Bills and u could hear the disdain in their voices. In the post-game I thought Bob Costas was going to cry......the hate is real, none of these talking heads are objective when it comes to the Cowboys.

Nick Wright told the crew the other morning, if you put a different team uniform on the Cowboys all of you would be lauding their play right now, not criticizing it.

Yea, more media exposure has heightened it . Chris Berman of ESPN was an admitted Buffalo fan . But I don’t recall him leading the way in the hate.

I used to travel in the early 90’s on the road with Cowboys Travel club which Jethro initiated. And I attended most of our rivals. Besides Philly the rest were tolerable .

But this hate has manifested in Social Media era with every Moron with a keyboard access to the world. People we didn’t used to hear from. And our fanbase has grown around the country which is also fueled the hate. They hopped cause of success and frustrated now.

The Cowboys have developed a national following much like the Lakers and the Yankees and with that draws the rest of the country rooting against them.

We haven’t been just another local or regional team like most of the league since our popularity soared in the 90’s. And the hype around us escalated with this increased fanbase and exposure.

I sincerely wish we were still the local and regional team were the first few decades but this is what can happen with success and national attention attracting so many wagon and casual fans who aborted their local and regional teams. But the increased access to all the teams with new media streams along with Fantasy , etc has added to the following.

And our lack of success this era has fueled their talking points . Our present owner hasn’t helped with this continued hype and intent to keep our iconic label front and center despite the lack of more success.

We haven’t deserved most of this exposure this era but our popularity and financial success has driven it. Makes it easy to hate on us. I don’t blame many of them for hating on us. I get it.

I had hoped with almost 3 decades of less success this era that we’d of lost some of this popularity but now it’s being driven by hate and ratings . We just have to toughen up our skin and look the other way.

Yeah, just look on here at how many don't like the team they profess to be a fan of.

I think some of these fans just hate what we have been this era. Which without more success is very frustrating. After all many of these afar fans abandoned their local and regional team because of our success and certain players. Especially from the 90’s and 70’s.

They were able to give their local fans crap cause their local team suked. Now it’s turned in many cases. And now those near them in enemy territory are giving them crap.

It’s different here. We are all Cowboy fans thru thick and thin . Yea, we are frustrated too but we don’t have to hear it but from anyone but our own fans who feel much the same.

And you might be low at 80%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cowboys fans are insufferable.
We just have so many casual fans . And with national fanbase most don’t follow closely.

We have become more about entertainment than football. Not the typical Diehard base most teams have primarily with local and regional fans.

Attempting to justify non-contributing elements doesn't prove instead process. Saying anything in print doesn't prove: freedom of press; monetary benefit; or that clicks make money except for a purchasing group looking for that. Talk in a circle some more...and tell me then, that I just don't understand now.
Surely even you can work out that if the author writes something controvercial both sides of the argument are going to read/respond which achieves the aim = clicks =money.

I think it is because the Cowboys have gotten off to great starts in the past only to fold in the second half or late in the season. The lack of playoff wins is a fact. If it was any other team faltering in the playoffs the way the Cowboys have, I am pretty sure Cowboys fans would call that team frauds. Until the Cowboys actually make some noise in the playoffs by beating one of the premier teams the media will always cover them they way they do now.
