Why are we winning?

Why are we winning this year with the loss of so many stud players? Is it Elliott? Yes. Partly at least!

Is it the lack of offensive turnovers this year? Yes. At least partly.

Is it a reinvigorated Mo, who is playing like the player we thought he could be when we drafted him? Check. No doubt.

Is it the play of a rookie QB that is playing better than any rookie in the history of the NFL? Well, Yeah!

Is it the best offensive line in football with the best offfensive like depth in football? No doubt!

It so because the receivers are stepping up at key times, and displaying a next man up mentality? Yep.

Is it improved offensive play calling? Yes. After a too conservative game 1, the play calling has gotten much better over the past 4 games.

A lot to like so far about this team. You have to give some credit to Jerry Jones and Red Ball for putting together a talented team.
Dak Prescott, next question.

I'm still in shock about this season. Romo goes out in preseason, Bryant was ineffective game 1 and missed the last two games. Injury wise this is the exact thing that happened last year. We lost Romo for 8 weeks and lost Bryant for a couple weeks at the start of the season. Almost same circumstances injury wise and we're 4-1. Dak is unbelievable, he playing ProBowl ball and he's doing this without our best playmaking wideout. Dak has turned Beasely into a major threat. I mean you got to be balling to turn Beasely into a major threat and I'm not trying to disrespect Beasely.

I'm just at awe that he is doing all this without Bryant. Replace Dez Bryant with Brice Butler and the offense doesn't miss a beat. Unbelievable. I think the difference between this year and last year is Dak is playing QB and Zeke is our RB and he is as good as advertised. Last year trying to go with Joseph Randle hurt us just as much as losing the players we lost due to injuries.

I'm just shocked that we're 4-1, should be 5-0, but we're leading the division without Romo and Bryant. And all the stuff about it being preseason and then we didn't play anyone good, well we played someone good and we're on a 4 game win streak. Just like Parcells always said, you are what your record says you are. That means we're pretty good.

Because while our offensive line can make any RB (and QB) look good, gaining a .4 or .5 more yards per carry makes a huge difference in yardage and what plays you can call, especially on 3rd and short. This is certainly because of Zeke and Morris. I am also inclined to believe our offensive line is starting to gel after a couple of years together and is starting to perform at an even a higher level.

I also, believe our defense is much improved over the last couple of years, in particular the secondary, and depth in general.

I think I read somewhere that there are nearly 30 players on this team that didn't play in the Green Bay game 2 years ago in the playoffs.

Differences this year

Improved QB play.
Improved RB talent and scheme fit
Improved DT depth
Improved CB depth, I think Brown is better then any CB3 we used last year already and can still get back Scandrick and also Mo is playing better on the whole.
Improved S play, Jones knowing he's back there has helped him and Church. Less Wilcox has produced a good Wilcox.

I think the long time consuming drives are what is helping us win, and rest our defense, and keep other team
from getting in a groove.
Thats what we need to do against GB , and no turnovers, and then they have a good chance to upset the packers!
GB will be favored to win.

Yes, but give our D some credit. They aren't as bad as most of us were expecting.
no they arent, but they havent been on the field for long periods, they are better rested thanks to dak and offense.
Mo is the big surprise, he has upped his game beyond what anyone thought he could, so this has been a big factor.
The rookie brown is doing some good things too.
But again I think from a mental standpoint this is all the "Dak effect" he is a hard worker, serious, and wants to win not show off
or dance or be on tv etc.
And now team knows he can win the games if they play good too.

If you work around someone like Dak, it will cause you to want to be better and try harder yourself.

Funny thing this game , twill who had a good game, was going out of bounds when we wanted the clock to run !!
Hopefully he can learn when to go out and when not to.

This backup QB is better, and will be the future
This run game is better...Zeke is a beast and Morris is good too
This defense is better.
More turnovers,
improved secondary
More pressure
The play calling is better too

Plus, all of the teams that they've played have 2-3 losses in only 5 games.

In any case, 4-1 is sweet!

It looks alot like 2014 so far.
A win is a WIN:flagwave:

Just to clarify though, the records of the teams they have beaten are

3-2
1-4
1-4
2-3

Next week will be the first game all year where they will be facing a team that has a winning record when they play them.

Having said that, you have to be thrilled with 4-1.
Great job so far.

OT but I predicted the nfc east would be a better and tougher div this year.
Also that the eagles defense might be real good, and they would be better than what people thought.

So I was right, but here is the surprise, The nfc east div right now has more wins than any div in the nfl !!!!!!!!!
I didnt think that would be the case. From the worst to the best !

This is another tidbit, dak is winning in this tougher east div, much tougher than in past 5 years.
The east is the only div in nfl with 3 teams with winning records, and if the giants could somehow win tonight it would be 4 teams !!

Dallas has 4 w in a row, so does Atlanta, and Minnesota is # 1 with 5 wins in a row.

also OT but Minnesota is only unbeaten team left and Sam Bradford, who people knocked put down, made fun of ,
is the QB !
I know people will say it is the defense, but he has played very good there, and I think he has found a home there.
If he keeps it going they wont go back to teddy. so kudo's to Sam !
In 2 weeks he plays the team that dumped him, phil , and I will be rooting for Sam!

Offensively, The return of Leary has made this line unmovable

Defensively, Mo's resurrection makes Byron Jones skill set relevant. Many times there was no place for Dalton to throw when he had good protection

Also, Lee is actually still playing at this point of the season
we're going to have to come to terms with Leary being a stud.

Well that means almost nothing, phil was 3-0 and they got beat today by the 1-3 lions which just shows, losers can and do beat winners.
Each game is tough to win , and I will conceded some teams that are really good, are harder to beat.
But you cant judge teams by their records especially early on.

I think a very underrated thing at play is how is we have overcome all these injuries. In prior years, the absence of one OL could wreck our ability to get anything done up front; the absence of the top DB would mean chaos in the secondary; and obviously, no Romo meant no chance.

I've long marveled at how New England is, in no way, player dependent. The people on the field are seemingly interchangeable parts. We're not exactly where New England is, mind you, but we have done a very nice job overcoming many, many significant injuries.
