Why are you a Cowboys fan?

The Cowboys were the first team I ever watched. Something about the way the sun shined on those silver helmets with the blue star on a Sunday afternoon about 29 years ago.

I bet your dad is a good man.;)

Thanks for saying so. He's the best man I've ever known. He's my best friend to this day. He actually cried when I told him one of his Christmas presents was tickets to see the HoF enshrinement in 2010(counting on Emmitt to get in on the 1st ballot!) :D

I was born in Sherman Texas and the Cowboys are all I've ever known and are the only "real" NFL team to me.

I was a fan of Terrell Owens. Then I gradually became a Romo fan.

That's a surer deal than death and taxes.

With the playoffs starting and all of the optimism surrounding the team. It made me reflect on just how long I've been a fan and curious as to why other people love and follow this team. It was kind of natural for me being born and raised in Dallas. I remember going to Texas Stadium on a elementary school trip and meeting Tom Landry and Roger Staubach. We met other players, but even as a child I could sense that there was something genuine and great about those two men. I've lived and cried with them every since.

Why do you follow the Cowboys?

I grew up in L.A. and all my family were Rams fans. The first time I remember seeing the Dallas Cowboys was in 1962 on TV. I loved their white uniforms with the star on the shoulder.

Eddie LeBaron was the QB and he looked like a kid so I liked them. The following pre-season the Cowboys came to L.A. to play the Rams and I met Bob Lilly before the game. He wasn't a big star then but he was my hero from that point on and I have been a rabid Cowboys fan ever since.

I'm a multi-generational fan from BOTH sides of my family.

I had no choice of being a Cowboys fan. In my family you are born into it.

Because being hated for following the Yankees wasn't enough.

My brother watched the Cowboys and the first game i saw was Cowboys-Bills Super Bowl 27 and i guess i fell in love.

The Plan will soon be revealed. Prepare thyself. ;)

You havent seen it yet?

I cant even describe what I thought about it. Ok, unnecessary, unenlightening, petty, very human-like.

My uncle was drafted by the Cincinnati Bongles in 1977 when I was 6 years old :( and thankfully he was traded to the boys :). I could have easily been a Bongles' fan but fate fell in my favor. He use to send me all kinds of gear from cleats, lamp shades, to pencils. I can still remember my first Cowboy's jacket, very rare in Louisiana; I have been a boys fan ever since.
