I started rooting for the Cowboys in 1965. Most people were fans of the St. Louis Cardinals. I liked the silver uniforms with the star, Dandy Don Meredith, and the coach with the hat Tom Landry. I had no influences by other people, just chose the Cowboys. Been my favorite team ever since.

I've caught one cardinal baseball game on a Saturday in St.Louis back in the 80's with a couple of friends, I left my seat early from the ball game and my two 'bro's ' caught me after the game still trying to talk this absolutely gorgeous blonde (hi-$) ' working girl' into an agreement!,,, she was there running recon for a Cowboys/Cardinals game that was gonna be played on the next day!,,, closest I've ever came to catching a live cowboy game.

I am a Texan. Not one of those guys with a funny looking cowhead on my helmet, I mean a REAL Texan. The Cowboys are the home team. I live in West Texas. My home teams are the Sonora Broncos, the Texas Tech Red Raiders, and the Dallas Cowboys.

Please plan on heading over and visiting your folks when your schedule allows because I guarantee you! there's more than me on this forum that would love to see a few of your frozen moments in life.:)
Ask and ye shall receive! My mom found them, if I post this, I'm sure there will still be doubters but there's nothing else I can do. I hope most people shut the hell up with the ridiculous accusations. I mean seriously...this is going pretty far out there to help prove a few people wrong, people I don't even know. I'll go ahead and post a few, not all of the pictures. I actually have some pretty cool signed black and whites of Irvin, Lockhart, Jeffcoat, Bates, Newton and Aikman but the other pictures are a little more personal.
You people suck :)

I also forgot to mention Randy White's daughter went to my school. We were "friends" and I had a crush on her for awhile. That also contributed to my love for the Cowboys. So take that! Lol, you can't make this stuff up. I'd have to be a hell of a Giants "fan" or some troll as some of you like to call me to share this information.

Pictures coming, I'll find an appropriate forum to post them in.

Alright, here we are. I figure this is the right forum because it's the primary reason why I'm Cowboys fan.

I openly admit I despise Jerry Jones, don't like every player and am quite critical of some of the things the Cowboys do. I'm also my own biggest critic. I'm critical because I care. For all the homers out there, if you don't like it, too bad. After following them for 30 years, there's more than enough reasons to question many of their moves. I also admit I'm a pessimist by nature. Last year is the first season in awhile that gave me cautious optimism for this year. Again, with the history of this team, how can you blame me?

Anyways, in the end we all want what's best for the Cowboys but have many different opinions of how they get there. So to all of you who call me out, have at it :) Note the sweet shorts and Aikmans semi 80's mullet!

Like it Trouty!

I'm a relatively new fan, back in 2010/2011 I spent a lot of time in Dallas (still go there every now and then) for work. Being 21 at the time and from Canada I was (and still am) a pretty big hockey fan, however seeing the passion Dallas had for the Cowboys pretty much drew me in and I fell in love with the sport and the team. To this day I'm a bigger football fan then I am hockey fan which is kind of crazy for me to think about, but football is definitely a huge love of mine and especially the Cowboys as well.

Good for you...learning a spontaneous love. Never lose it now!

I actually think we'll make the playoffs this year and could even make a splash. The pessimist in me says we won't make the playoffs, even though I think they will. Get this, I actually wrote a paper on pessimism in college. I know, it's a messed way of thinking but if I expect the worst, or negatively, then oh well, I expected it. If the opposite happens, I'm ecstatic! No let downs. See how that works?

To help with my "negative" thinking I actually just started reading a book called "The subtle Art of Not Giving a F!#*"
Hope that helps all the naysayers of my posts ;)

Back on topic, I swear.

I'm right there with you. 100%. Plus, I guess it's natural to be pessimistic/negative when I deal with so much depression.
