Why are you a Cowboys fan?

The irony is that he pretended to give up on them in his later years but I could tell he was still watching them. He had a couple of major strokes before he died and lost a lot of his memory. He could still seem to talk about what those "stinkin' rotten Cowboys" did last weekend though. It was 90% of what we talked about on the phone the last couple of years he was around.
I don't know what to say. I'm sorry. It does warm my heart though. Great dad

Grown up in Modesto Norcal, as a kid in the late eighties and early 90s all the Gangbangers wore Raiders and I didn't want to associate or get robbed for my gear. The 49ers had same gang relations all the Northerners gang wore SF also. Then I bet all my allowances/savings on the Bengals vs SF on the Superbowl, so thanks Mr. Montana for the L ! The hate was real for life! I liked the star logo so starting watching the few games played on TV, then DC starting getting good then some Superbowls later and the rest is history.

Met Landry and Staubach at an event in Mesquite while visiting my aunt in 1974. Growing up over a thousand miles away, I'm the only Cowboys fan in my family.
That's just simply amazing. I met Bill Parcells and Drew Bledsoe. Bill wouldn't even look at me. I said bill I love the enthusiasm. He finally turned and spoke. LOL that was at Bryant College in New England bledsoe's rookie season he signed a football for me good thing you had a shoppie you gave me hell for that. Not having one. I would have loved to Ahmet Landry Starbuck

Thanks, man. He was a great Dad and I miss him every day. I appreciate this thread. We need some positive vibes around here with the current state of the season.
And I know a lot of us fight and are passionate in our beliefs but the one thing we all want is for the Cowboys to win something. What a great day that would be.

You're welcome my cowboy brother I was just thinking sometimes we forget why we love this franchise. Why were willing to suffer. Through the bad times. As much as we cherish the good

I have been asking myself that every day since JG became the head coach. :)
On the old Cowboys fan forum. How many people we I was so frustrated with Jason the Romo era. They forgot why they were even fans. I just thought it'd be nice to reminisce

My dad was a huge fan, and growing up in NC in the days before the Panthers, you either rooted for Washington or Dallas because that was what was on TV. Fortunately, or unfortunately, I grew up in a Dallas household. Mom also used to fawn over Troy Aikman and to this day talks about how nice his teeth are.

Although I was in first grade when we won Super Bowl XXX, the first Super Bowl I can remember watching was Denver/Atlanta, so I have never once gotten a taste of glory. I can remember my favorite players back in the day being Emmitt, Rocket Ismail, and Deion.
