Why aren’t many talking about the D?

All the talk after the SFO loss has been about how bad Dak dnd MM are, but why isn’t there more talk about how bad the defense was? Even if the offense played well, they weren’t scoring 40 points that the defense gave up. Defense couldn’t stop nothing on Sunday night both run/pass and had so many penalties that extended drives. Where was the pass rush, where were the turnovers?

3 interceptions plus a lost fumble makes it hard on the defense. Admittedly, the D was not great. 4 turnovers is a lot.

If Dallas's offense keeps possession and scores more points, San Fran scores fewer points. Dallas did not need to score 43 points to win.

Defenses get worn out. 3 and outs, turnovers...etc. They didn't play well, but it would have helped if the offense could have kept them off the field.

I think it’s hard for a lot of fans to talk about the defense because many thought it was one of the great defenses of all time. Lol The D sucked on Sunday night just like the rest of the team. The defense isn’t nearly as good as everyone thought it was just like the team. If we’re not getting takeaways, we’re not very good defensively. The takeaways and defensive scores have masked some of the problems on defense. It’s helped get us off the field and put some points on the board.

the defense sucked in the last two losses ,defense started the game out poorly they set the tone for the other team and we lost the game because the d has been atrocious and the two losses.

yup it was the defense, it was penalties ,it was scheme ,someone was scheme.

I mean it a whole lot of things that we can list before we get to that other thing everyone always wants to talk about replacing that I’m not starting on this thread again yes it was the D they absolutely got owned they look terrible in two games.Quinn no longer should be the favorite to be he next coach​

I mean look at last year did you not remember that the Prescott got back from a broken hand how the defense went on a tear allowing 200 yards a game on the ground they start allowing a lot of points they blew the two leads up in Jacksonville and Green Bay !?!I mean they had moments where they were terrible just like these two games this year everyone wants to blame the offense b I’m blaming the defense. I’m blaming the penalties and blaming the coaches will get around to the offense because plenty of people are already bringing that other person up way too often because we lost this game because of the tone. Series one,we got ran over over and over and even in the 2021 playoff game where we had 14 penalties the defense gave up 10 yards per carry in the first half;

nothings really changed we just played even worse this time the whole team lost these two games.

In part because while they had issues they weren’t the biggest problem. The O was.

After San Fran scored the opening TD, the defense then stymied the 49ers on three straight dives only to watch the Cowboys churn out a bunch of three and outs and a turnover. At some point a D is gonna wear out.

So they were hardly good. In fact, they really had issues especially starting around mid to late 2nd Q. But the O basically sucked from the opening bell, hence why they are getting more focus.

Offense scored 10 points, 10 points aren't winning you any Football games...The defense can't hold up when the Offense musters 3,3 and outs and a fumble in the first four series and didn't get a first down until 20 minutes into the game.....The defense wasn't great but the offense didn't give them ANY help...

Tell you what, go out there and play on the Dallas defense and after Dak and the offense goes 5 straight 3 and outs you will be pretty much gassed for the rest of the game.

The offense didn’t sustain drives and keep them off the field.

I give the defense a pass for this game. A defense can’t succeed against an offense as good as San frans, without the offense helping them out by holding the ball and keeping the score relatively close.

In my opinion they designed this offense to complement a great defense. When the defense has struggled the offense hasn’t picked them up either. It’s all about mental toughness, when they get punished in the face, they cannot crumble which they did in those 2 losses

I thought two players played well on D and that was Big Hank and LVE. They did get stops early on but the O could not do anything.

The game changer IMO was when the score was 14-7 and we stopped them to force a punt and they called the targeting bull crap on Kearse on CMC. That was a horse turd call! From that point on they did whatever they wanted to.

THE VERY FIRST DRIVE the 49ers whooped their butts.

The offense was horrific, but that doesn't take away from the fact that the D pretty much was bullied from the first snap of the game.
