Why aren’t many talking about the D?

Offense scored 10 points, 10 points aren't winning you any Football games...The defense can't hold up when the Offense musters 3,3 and outs and a fumble in the first four series and didn't get a first down until 20 minutes into the game.....The defense wasn't great but the offense didn't give them ANY help...
My point is, both units were equally as bad, defense shouldn’t get a free pass

3 interceptions plus a lost fumble makes it hard on the defense. Admittedly, the D was not great. 4 turnovers is a lot.

If Dallas's offense keeps possession and scores more points, San Fran scores fewer points. Dallas did not need to score 43 points to win.
2 of those INTs were long after the game was over. When you are down 4 scores before INT 2, you don’t get to pretend turnovers are the problem. When they are marching down the field at will all game, then there is a problem.

The Cowboys defense is doing what the offense used to do (before McCarthy took over play calling): beat down bad teams and gold to good ones.

Defense can withstand it but not against a team like the niners because thay are so disciplined and so physical and go on long drives that just drain you

The offense has to do its part

I still don’t understand how Dan Quinn allows his best player to get doubled all game and does nothing about it. If they are gonna double him how about blitzing a bit more. Couple times we did blitz we got home

All the talk after the SFO loss has been about how bad Dak dnd MM are, but why isn’t there more talk about how bad the defense was? Even if the offense played well, they weren’t scoring 40 points that the defense gave up. Defense couldn’t stop nothing on Sunday night both run/pass and had so many penalties that extended drives. Where was the pass rush, where were the turnovers?
If the offense even plays an average game, the defense gives up no more than 28. Against SF, that is about all you can expect.

When one side of the ball completely no shows, it is nearly impossible to objectively evaluate the other.

This is a great question. 2 out of the last 3 games they have gotten torched. SF was downright embarrassing. They have proven to be a good downhill team if they get a lead. Playing against an offense mixing run and pass they can embarrass themselves. Quinn is no genius. Blame Dak all you want but in AZ and SF this defense gave them no chance.

D stunk it up but only gave up 100 yards to their top 2 weapons...so we did our job taking them out of the game, but nobody informed them of the other playmakers SF has

Don’t get me wrong the defense got dominated especially the safeties but once San Francisco got into rhythm it was all she wrote. The Cowboys had one first down in the first quarter and kept getting three and outs. Then in the second half Dak started throwing picks. I stepped out the room for second and San Francisco had the ball again after scoring a touchdown.

Because it provides them ammo on the two biggest targets .

Lets be clear. Even without those turnovers the defense couldn't really stop the 49ers offense. Guys wide open. I mean kittle didn't get tackled all game but he did have 3 TD's.

The D was being beat down BEFORE the interceptions. I can excuse the Pollard fumble that yielded a short field, but let's not dismiss the defense's play......it was gashed.

The defense got gassed bc the offense couldn’t stay on the field. Too many 3 and outs and turnovers.

After seeing some of the breakdown videos out there it looks like some of the mistakes on defense were more easily correctable.

They clearly got worn down in the 2nd half, but if they got anything from the offense in the first half things could have been a bit different to a degree.

The offense was just as bad, but this defense was suppose to be among the best in this league, they kept on giving up 7 points on every drive

It's because the defense needs to sell out to hopefully make plays in the backfield as its widely known we struggle coming back from a deficit.

If a team knows/predicts you're going to gamble you leave yourself open, especially with a team that has the perfect counter (the run).

30th against the pass since Diggs went down.

DQ loves man. You can’t play man with Gilmore as your #1, he doesn’t have the wheels to keep up with the top WR’s anymore. DQ needs to help the D and mix in zone.
