Why aren't the Cowboys looking at the bigger DT's?

We never draft high enough to get a good DT. We don't move up to get one, nor do we pick one up in free agency. How do you expect to get one? Trade for one? That's usually the most costly

I feel transported back in time. We've been asking this question for years.
The football gods are still punishing us for drafting Morris Claiborne over Fletcher Cox.

Traitor Dan Quinn got rid of our young big NTs in Bohanna and Ridgeway. Ironic since Dan Quinn left to the Commanders and now has Ridgeway. Wish he would follow suit and cut Ridgeway so we could pick him up the way he did to us Cowboys. I bet he won't. That traitor also forced Mazi to lose almost 50 pounds and become useless playing inside at NT. I bet traitor Quinn won't make Daron Payne, Jonathan Allen and John Ridgeway lose weight in Washington the way he made Mazi lose so much weight in Dallas. Dan Quinn is a bonafied traitor who hurt the Cowboys.

Because they still haven't figured out that to have a great defense you need players in the middle. The 90s had that, Parcells put it in place and since then, NOTHING besides a blind luck win with Irving. Zero since, Zero.

AA gap defense should mix things up.

2 LBs in the A gaps.

Data in the B gaps.

Are they really set on Mazi making a huge jump from last years lack luster season. Or are they just going to go with what they have and see how bad things are still and make a pickup during the season. Everyone knows we need help, somehow they don't, please give your thoughts
who says cowboys know what they are doing?

but look at the Jersey sales. we had 3 in the top 10.

The organization doesn't put much emphasis on big guys who only take on double teams. Mazi wasn't drafted because he was awesome against the run. He was drafted because he was a big body projected to help anchor the middle but had freak athleticism which is why they ended up using him at 3T more than as a pure NT. Jerry wants guys who get after the QB, which is one reason why the Cowboys are always doing line games (twists, stunts, etc) and leaving gaps exposed in order to generate pressure. If they would just draft 1 guy who was awesome at stuffing the run early, late 1st or second you'd see this DLine really keep things going especially late in the season.

Maybe I'm wrong but I believe this all started when Marinelli became our Defensive coordinator. He wanted slim and fast players at every position. I was like NOOOOOOOO You need big DT's....

Because they dont "Flash" enough to be marketed...they dont get Sacks or score TD's or get INT's so they are not a good money maker for our GM's "Plan"....

The answer to the question is simply that the GM's job is never on the line. There's no urgency, or fear of failure.

Jerry has no clue of the difference between freakish athleticism and burst/lateral agility/motor/instincts.
