What, you're not a fan of irony?

newlander;2607358 said:hell yeah....he's an idiot. But an idiot with alot less talent than T.O. Maybe the worse extension JJ has ever done was this guy a couple years ago. He isn't very good and he's got a big, fat, ignorant mouth. Great attributes.
His numbers were pretty similar to what they were in 2006 when he was the #3, and not too far off from where they were last year when he was the #2.dbair1967;2606510 said:Go look at his numbers and get back to us on who would produce better results as a 3rd or 4th option. Other than a couple of teams that throw 65% of the time or more, you wont find any.
This guy is very productive, and a high % of his receptions go for first downs
Beast_from_East;2606236 said:Didnt Crayton have a private meeting with Garrett during the season to talk about his lack of involvement in the offense???...........I consider that caring about personal stats, but maybe thats just me.

*IF* Owens remains on this team, with RoyE at #2 and Austin showing he can be a legit #3 is there even room for Crayton anymore?
dbair1967;2607720 said:TO isnt going to be here, I think alot of people need to start coming to grips with that. If Reeves is really being hired as a "consultant" he has already spoke his opinion on TO, and his opinion was you cant win with the guy.
Roy #11, Austin and Crayton as 1-2-3. Hurd and Stanback probably battle for one spot, I think there will be a new 4th or 5th WR.

CATCH17;2607736 said:I wouldn't be shocked if Crayton gets traded because of Austins potential.
If he can stay healthy we have to get that guy on the field.
Our brains will be completely beaten out before draft day.WoodysGirl;2606383 said:What is there to talk about that hasn't already been said over and over and over and over...
dbair1967;2607755 said:I think Austin will have a big role next yr, but I doubt they'd trade Crayton. Why should they? He doesnt cost that much, is a young player and is productive.
If any of the WR's go, it will be TO.
No, we don't. We actually take some pride in our forum and how it is run and what isn't allowed here. Anyone who follows the Guidelines will be fine here. Other forums can run however they wish. There's no jealousy on our parts at all. We wish them well. Our forum is respected by some people whose opinions we appreciate.irvin4evs;2607508 said:This place isn't as insane as the Ranch, but it wishes it were.
dbair1967;2607752 said:As for the above comments, he's been at best the 3rd option (behind TO & Witten) and for most of this yr the 4th option (behind TO, Witten and RW). Yet his numbers have been solid, with 36, 50 and 39 catches, at least 516 yds in all 3 seasons (697 last yr) and a total of 15 tds. 68% of his receptions go for first downs, which is high. By comparison, TO's 3yr average here is about 72%, Witten's is at 59%. Crayton's % is higher than some other teams prominent starters, such as TJ Houzemandezah (not quite 61%) Anquan Boldin (62.5%) and Hines Ward (67%)
For you people clamoring for more production, again this is not Playstation. If a guy is only the 3rd or 4th option, he is going to have limited chances. Every WR is not going to catch 100 passes and 1500 yds on your roster. Owens was going to be the #1 target, Witten is going to be the #2 target. When both those guys get as many passes thrown in their direction (with good reason, they are either at the top or THE top of the league in terms of their talent) then there's not going to be tons of passes thrown to other guys.
Crayton's been very productive in his role.
RainMan;2608233 said:To be honest, if we start ridding the roster of every loud-mouthed player, we might end up with 27 players left on this team. You don't get rid of Crayton, who is talkative but sometimes rather harmless, unless you're also getting rid of Ellis, Carpenter, Owens, among many others.
I'm with you, I think Austin has shown his potential...just has to stay healthy.CATCH17;2607736 said:I wouldn't be shocked if Crayton gets traded because of Austins potential.

CATCH17;2606264 said:Oh I agree.
Garrett for some reason doesn't realise that if you just get the ball in Owens hands he is capable of breaking free for big yardage.
He think every pass to Owens has to be 20+ yards down field.
I was referring to his demeanor of self importance more so than his talents.RoadRunner;2606150 said:Crayton doesn't even come close to the level of an Alvin Harper. Harper took a slant around 70 yards to set up the end of the 49ers 80s dynasty while Crayton quits on routes that would potentially beat the Giants and avoid being #1 seed with a one and done.
Beast_from_East;2608301 said:Exactly!!!
Thats why I was hoping somebody would have hired Garrett as HC this offseason. I am sick of this Tecmo Bowl crap.......every play has to be a 30 yard pass???
Watching Felix just sit on the bench game after game was just beyond dumb. How the hell do you have Marion Barber, Felix Jones, and Tashard Choice as running backs and you call pass plays almost every down???
I think we were 25th or 27th, cant remember exactly, in rushing attempts in the NFL. I know our guys got hurt, but this is just inexcusable to be that low in rushing attempts. Garrett just abandoned the run almost every game.
