Why can't we beat Seattle?

I said nothing of shame, I said if they lose I will be disappointed they lost the game. Sorry I never go into any of the games saying well we can't win this one it is just too hard. I know they are capable, it will not be easy they will have to play very well if they have any expectations to pull this one out but I think they are capable of doing just that. If they fail to win then of course I'm disappointed that they failed to get it done. I don't go bat **** crazy as many do here claiming they will never win but I will be disappointed that they were unable to get it done.

I guess that's fair, I just don't believe in getting too high or too low, it's a long season.

I said nothing of getting too high or low. I'm not running around claiming we are SB bound, there is a lot of room for improvement. I don't sit there writing wins and loses on some schedule I go into every game knowing they have the ability to win if they play good ball and they are capable of losing any game they go into when they play poorly. My prediction on the season was around 9-7 or 10-6 but it is based on what I think Cowboys can do not any individual game. Could Dallas lose to a very good seahawks team? you bet they could they also have the ability to win it and any time this team fails to play to their ability I will be disappointed.

Now that the NFL is blood testing for HGH maybe Seattle will have a couple guys suspended come Sunday. :)

The contemporary version of the 70's Steelers - I'd like to see A Football Life on that.

I get what you're saying, and I said this team would go 7-9, and I've only been wrong about the Saints game so far. I guess that's where we differ, I don't get upset about losing to the teams that I didn't expect them to win in the first place. I understand why you and others feel differently and there is no right or wrong way to look at it.

No you shouldn't be happy if they lose, I'm certainly not, I guess I'm just neutral about it and almost numb to the mediocrity.

and I feel disappointment in loses always have always will. I don't go to extremes and start claiming the season is over or how losing to Seattle would somehow mean we are incapable of putting together a great season. No more than the loss to the 9ers a game which I was very disappointed in how they played, they did things that hurt themselves and because if it and the fact 9ers are a good team they did not give themselves a chance at winning.

Anyone who thinks that if the Cowboys lose to Seattle the season is over, doesn't know football and shouldn't be taken seriously. The niner game was disappointing, even though I didn't expect them to win, because of the mistakes and I thought they could have played better but, I believe the Niners are just a better football team at this point.

Im starting to believe. I may get killed here at the zone by some for being optimistic, but why the hell not.

I believe we win IF there are no turnovers. The Texans game should have ended 33-17. Fumbles and interceptions in the red zone - that won't work against the Seahawks. We also need better special teams play - the fumble was inexcusable. Field position will be critical.

The hawks are coming off a Monday night road game. I know stats are useless but here is one to chomp on:

Seattle is 0-2 under Pete Carroll in games following a Monday night road game in which the game was lost or won by less than 16 points. Let's hope that the Commanders give them all they can handle tonight.

and I think had the Cowboys not had the unforced mistakes in the 1st qrt of the 9ers game they would have had a great chance of winning. We both agree season is not done win or lose vs Seahawks and we both seem to think the 9ers game was a disappointment. As for seahawks Dallas will go there to try to pull out a win and if they fail they and I will be disappointed. Again pretty simple

But was the following game at Seattle?

They absolutely have a punchers chance. The talent differential in this league is not so significant that any team goes into a game with absolutely no shot at winning.

The ability of the offense to run the football on any down and out of multiple formations plays well against Seattle, especially with there being no Red Bryant on the front anymore. Based off of the game from 2012, they will need to clean up their play on special teams significantly, and play 1st and 2nd down better on defense against the run. The Seahawks went to third down six times in the second half, and the Cowboys allowed two conversions on stupid penalties. Time of possession in the second half was also way off, with the Seahawks controlling the ball for approximately 22 minutes.

The matchups between Brandon Mebane and Travis Frederick/Zack Martin, and Michael Bennett vs Doug Free will be huge.

Defensively, Scandrick will need to play his best game against Percy Harvin. The way the Seahawks move him around the field, it will be a group effort to hold him down.

Another key - get off to a good early start to limit the crowd noise. Last time they played, they fumbled the opening kickoff, had a blocked punt after their second possession and threw an interception following their third possession. While they hung in there in the first half, it severely hampered them and their ability to win the game.

I think the Cowboys play well, but wear down in the fourth quarter. I see it as a 24-14 or 24-17 type of game.

Lack of a defense comes to mind. I've noticed the last couple weeks, the Dallas D kind of blows their wad in the first half. By the 4th quarter the flood gates open. Unfortunately, that sounds like Beast mode time to me.

Dallas stacks their LB's between the DE's. They can run end arounds for 10 yards with Harvin all day and none of the linebackers will beat him to the edge. Look how Foster ran off tackle and no OLB in site.

How about Seattle is just better?

Disagree. We have a good shot against the champs. Cowboys left 21 points on the field yesterday:

1) Romo had a redzone INT
2) T-Dub dropped a pass that was either TD or 1st and goal from the 1-yard line
3) DM29 fumbled in the redzone

And they converted 57% of their 3rd downs. Plus they held Watt in check. Should have been a blowout.

Bring on Seattle.

Those very things you mention are a big part of the reason I don't think they win. You're looking at it like "The Cowboys left all these points on the field." I look it as "Against a team that can actually capitalize on your mistakes, you lose yesterday's game by 2 or 3 TDs."

If Murray fumbles away a good drive, if Romo throws a bad pick, if they drop potential 1st downs/TDs, then Seattle will win by 3 TDs or more.

I agree if they play as they did vs Houston they will not win, they must play better. You can't have the turnovers in the redzone vs tops teams. On the other hand they play with the same intensity and performance as they did vs NO they have a good chance at upsetting the Seahawks.

Of course they can. Anything can happen in the NFL as people see every single week.

The likely hood however is that we won't win. Seattle is a damn good football team that is near impossible to beat at home. They're tough, they're nasty, and they play very physical. It will take a near perfect game from Dallas to beat them in their crib.

The way to beat Seattle is easier said than done. First thing is to dominate time of possession, like San Diego did to them, which we have shown we can do with Murray. If we can't run the ball on them, we're not going to win.

Seattle isn't going to make many, if any mistakes on offense. So we need to keep their offense off the field, control the clock and finish drives. If we turn it over early like we did against Houston, Seattle will surely capitalize on them, get an early lead, force us into pass mode and it will be a wrap.

Another first quarter fumble by Murray in this game would be fatal.
