Why can't we do the Tush Push too?

Kelce is a future HOF center and Hurts squats 600 pounds. That's not as easy to replicate as it seems.
^ This. I would like those members who questioned my suggestion that Prescott scramble more do the same to the tush push suggestion. The same goes for those who always bring up the 'injury prone' mantra.

Jalen Hurts' internal line gets great push but he contributes also. He must. Hurts is driving too, like a running back diving up the middle but without the running start. He is generating a ton of torque on his ankles. That would be a reasonable concern using Dak Prescott in the same fashion.

Additionally, Hurts is getting pushed from behind also. The opportunities of Prescott's ankles getting stepped on go way up.

The tush push is an option but it should not be regularly used like Philadelphia does.

Our oline can't get the push
There’s more to it than Jalen squatting a lot and Goedert putting his forearm up Hurts’s rectum.

A number of teams try it at different success rates, but Jason Kelce has said before that there’s a lot of nuance they’ve developed that makes it work. He won’t get specific but said neither Jalen nor the pusher are the most important part of the play that everyone else is getting wrong. It may look like it, but They’re not running a normal QB sneak with a push

You know what? Why can't we use the Tush Push too? I'm not saying use Dak, though he is a rather big QB. But can surely develop our own version of the Tush Push. We struggle in the Red zone, but I think creating our own version of it would be good. Here's what I have in mind.

Instead of using Dak (though, we could if we wanted to), I think we would use a bit of a t formation, sort of like what McCarthy would occasionally use in Green Bay. However, the backs would be Luepke and 2 linemen (who would report as eligible), a lineman and a TE, or 2 TEs accompanying Luepke. Luepke would be a bit in front of the other backs. That way, when they hand it to him on a FB dive, the other two backs/linemen can push Luepke into the end zone. Behind Tyler Smith, Biadisz, and Zach Martin, that should be enough push up front to allow Luepke, pushed by the others, to get into the end zone. It'd be a combination of a FB dive and a tush push. I'd love to see us try it.
I think everybody is going to start to do it. NFL is copy cat league. until the rules change and they stop it. there is no rule to stop it as yet.

I think some teams won't copycat this just out of stubbornness "we don't do that here" mentality.

But it does seem the extra push is effective. Plus, all the linemen start out tight and angle their drive toward the center.

When the red zone shrinks your spacing for pass offense, why not eliminate that handicap, and go power.

You do realize they have a very healthy offensive line and one of the best offensive lines in football they may be the number one offensive line in football when healthy... So you line up a very mobile and strong quarterback behind that and something they practice all the time there aren't many teams that can do that..... If they could they would they have a special thing going on until somebody completely shuts it down which did once last game it got shut down and they're gonna keep running it but you can't expect us to do that with three missing offensive lineman can you... We also have not had our starting five on offensive line yet this year do you forget that as well and we it's also a new offense you forget that as well?? This place has purposely ignores obvious facts from game to game on why we win or lose and they overreact one way or the other really that was just one loss yes we're struggling in the red zone for some good reasons The Jets have a very good red zone defense one of the best defenses in the league game one on the road in the rain that's another reason and we are missing three starting offensive line this last game and they were playing a very very stingy zone that we couldn't have time to throw to get a receiver open because they weren't open next game we'll see but right now there are reasons that we can't get it in the end zone..

They're all different and all unique reasons you could call them excuses you can go back to the games this is not just a problem or the Cowboys can't score in the red zone there's been issues in each game and good reason in each game

I agree. When the line's health, we should do this. Use Hunter as QB. It's not giving anything away. It's pretty clear when it's being used.

It is something you study closely and figure out and practice all off season so youre ready

Like “red zone scoring”

You dont wake up after game 3 of the regular season to “work at it harder”

McCarthy is a buffoon
You're not allowed to practice in the offseason.

dak is old and weak, he's not young and strong like Hurt. He's weak, he snaps ankles just running.

Of course not
Only non Cowboys teams are allowed OTAs and TC
You think teams are in pads and practicing short yardage and goal line in OTAs?

They hardly touch each other in training camp either.

wouldn't this be a time to throw Lance out there? What could possibly go wrong that hasn't? I know he isn't activated but....lol. If not him then somebody...Micah? I'll stop typing before I stumble upon something that may work
