Why is everybody bringing up the Cowboys win vs. the Patriots? We were on a hot streak back then and they were still evolving. Bellichick and his young rookie quarterback had a longer way to go back then and they still got us to the brink of losing that game. If we would have played them last Sunday, it was highly likely that we also lost that game.

As far as the OPs thesis goes, uhm no. Defense wins you championships but that was a very special game and Bellichick just outcoached his opponent. He was once again smarter than the rest, anticipated the situation and the Bills weaknesses. Ugly game but great coaching. Who knows how the Cowboys would have played it, woulda coulda. We played them earlier in the season and were lucky to do so it seems in hindsight. Washington is not NE and let's hope the Cowboys have overcome their November slump. So let's not look back and get that 12-5 record or at least make it 11-6.

Dallas has made 9ne big step forward this year. It has done better than the last two decades in promoting those who can produce , and demoting those that don't. Maybe they don't always get it right , but at least now, seems everyone is accountable, except maybe dak and Zeke. Lve I think would be moved if we had a viable option

Football hasn't changed. People's perceptions of football have changed. It's still limit your own mistakes while taking advantage of your opponents mistakes. So running the ball and stopping the run is still championship football.
