That is the book on him.iceberg said:and they've been doing that same thing to drew for his entire career as well. : )
Hiero said:If we lose the panthers( season is over), does anyone actually think Bill plays a youngun? Not gonna happen.
iceberg said:what will happen is ESPN will lead off with a story of how someone wearing an 82 or 86 thanksgiving jersey w/iceberg on the back of it had to be escorted off valley ranch facilities after demanding time to speak with bill to understand his "logic".
And I agree that some one other than Bledsoe should have seen not only the fourth QTR but the whole second half. At 28 Zip No use in getting the starter killed.
Why do I not doubt this.

probably cause you know me. : )
iceberg said:wonder if the ardent supporters will view it as a party foul this year when last year it wasn't.
I am sure he will make up some excuse.wileedog said:Yes, I will. And I was fine with not playing Henson/Romo last year.
If we lose to Carolina Romo should start against the Rams, and I'd be interested to hear Bill's logic if he doesn't.
iceberg said:heh, me too. : ) i just hope he has some this time. i never bought into "best chance to win" cause we knew vinnie was a short timer and we had no idea what was behind him, if anything. the logic just wasn't there to me.
SultanOfSix said:Parcells said in his press conference that he thought about making a change at QB. He asked Bledsoe and the latter wanted to stay in. Although, Parcells could have overruled, he chose to allow him to continue to play.
wileedog said:The logic was that Bill said repeatedly that they were not ready to play.
If I took him at his word then, then I take him at his word when and he and others have said that Romo made a lot of progress this training camp. If that's the case, then Romo should play if we are truly out of it. Especially against a weak defensive team like the Rams.
If he doesn't, I suspect its because he absolutely hates losing, for any reason. Even if nothing is on the line. Not to prove himself "right" to a bunch of reporters he largely despises.
But no, i won't condone it if he puts in Drew in the last meaningless game of the season.
Jarv said:Oh he will, unless drew is hurt and we are down 76-0 at the half in the last game. Bledsoe will still stay in.
wileedog said:Hopefully we'll beat Carolina and won't find out....
Bach said:Last year when we were out of it Bill continued playing Vinny even though he had zero future here.
This year Bill will play Bledsoe as long as he's healthy regardless of the score and regardless of whether we are out of contention or not.
iceberg said:and i find that detrimental to the long term health of the team and an incredible waste of what little playing time reserves may ever get.
Bach said:Me too.
But that's the way it is with Big Bill. He has no use for non-Parcells QB's.
Jarv said:Anyone recall the old Simms days ? Simms was competing for playing time with another QB...Scott Bruener or some guy like that. BP admittied he made a mistake on the QB's and should have played Phil.
I was at a Giants game years back when BP actually made a switch in the middle of the game. Simms led them downfield then broke his hand or a finger on a helmet.
It was over 20 years ago, but I remember the Giants fans going crazy when BP would not play Phil Simms, then heard them groaning when he got hurt.
Bottom line to the story is that BP has done this before and has been wrong about this before.
