WHY didnt a backup QB play?

Are you telling me Bill didn't put him in because a some reporters asked about him? Do you really think he's worried about a QB controversy with Romo?

Well you can only learn so much by sitting there holding a clipboard and signaling plays from the sideline. You have to learn by trial and error.

I was pissed that Romo did not get any playing time whatsoever. I thought for sure that Tony would get at least the 4th quarter to get some quality playing time.

If we lose to Carolina Romo should start against the Rams, and I'd be interested to hear Bill's logic if he doesn't.

from here we'll see people push for playing time and parcells telling everyone how much vinnie squats cause he's lost in his pc's again recycling excuses.

as for the pass rush - if it's that bad then get your playoff qb off the field so he doesn't get hurt and kill all chances.

either way parcells made no sense in that move, or lack thereof.

because Parcells is still stuck in his old ways! his response will be" I just didn't feel it was the right time" you want me to have throw a kid in their under those circumstances". Does this sound familiar

He was consistent last year when he said he didn't think either QB was ready to play.

Supposedly Romo made progress this TC. If we lose to Carolina, lets see what happens.

that dont make him right, instead let VT faulter and slow the QB progression. Let's not bring last year up ;)

I think Drew should start every game unless he is hurt. In garbage time he shouldn't be in there even if he wants to be. Too much risk of injury.

He should start our last 2 games and if they are close he should play every snap. If however, the game is out of reach either way, put in the kids.

The difference is that Bledsoe probably will be here next season. It was obvious that Vinny was 1 and done in Dallas. It made plenty of sense to get the young guys playing time at the end of the season knowing that Vinny wouldn't be back. Even if Dallas loses to Carolina, I see Bledsoe starting against the Rams. I would hope that Romo sees some time, but I don't imagine that happening.

Bill was ready to put in Romo this game, but Drew talked him out of it.

(Drew might be a little paranoid after that whole Tom Brady thing.... :) )

Hopefully next time Bill listens to his head and not his heart. Either way that says to me it may not be as out of the question as some might think.

Are you saying we can't afford to lose Romo but we can afford to lose Bledsoe?

If we had lost Bledsoe for the year yesterday, that would have been most unfortunate. The game was clearly out of reach. I can ignore the justifications like "our new guys need reps", "let's see what we've got for next year", etc, but the Commanders were pinning their ears back and bringing it on the QB. I'm trying to figure out what this means

All I can figure is either : 1. Parcells is just being stubborn, 2. he is making a point to the starters, ie., you made your bed go lie in it, or less likely, 3. maybe he thinks one of the backups can play and he didnt want to risk injuring the young guys to the Skins' all out blitz.

If that is what he is doing that is sad indeed. I remember several years ago when Patrick Roy was the Montreal Canadiens goaltender and the best in the NHL. He had a horrid day and goal after goal kept getting by him. He was so angry that he left the Canadiens which was his lifelong dream. Embarrassing your players is morbid.

Its obvious that Parcells thinks romo is garbage thats why he didnt play him

He didnt play him or anyother back ups because he wanted them to suffer for giving up once they were down by14. Bledsoe is lucky he is still standing, and Tucker is lucky he isnt cut so is cun-wiff

Ok a blowout game isnt going to get much more obvious than this Bill. Down 35-0 two quarters to go. zero chance of winning, so what do we do? Ya lets keep Bledsoe in so he can get blitzed every single play. Very smart move Bill, I knew that he was stubborn, I just never knew how extremely stubborn this guy is.
Why not give henson or romo some valuable game experience?

bill doesn't want our backup to get in, get beat up, and lose confidence...

kinda like last year...
