Maybe, but Lewis is a rookie that missed training camp and he has been a top 3 player on the Cowboys defense. Jaylon had a full year to learn the scheme.

It seems that he learned to play with his previous physical ability. Now his physical ability is limited. It might still be good enough but he has not learned to play with his limitations.

For example:
If you run a 4.3 in college and now run 4.8, then you have to take different angles.

I don't see that as much as I see Jaylon's recognition skills being awful. Playfakes destroy him regularly and he has no conception of route combinations. He spends way too much time trying to diagnose. Without Lee out there helping him presnap the wheels fell off.

So true. This is sort of the equivalent of getting old very quickly.

The successful older players become crafty, but they learn to change over time as the effects are gradual.
