I don’t think he’s done enough in this league to demand anything else. If anything, he’s in his final year and set to be a FA. He’ll be able to heal up and come along on his own time while being first man up in the case of an injury or in dime packages. Then next year, still in his relative prime, he can go starter role hunting. I doubt he has much trade value since he’s coming back from injury.Cowboys fans will cut anyone from Diggs to Parsons to Lamb just because they had one bad play in week 6 of a blowout game that we won
anyways if Lewis got cut I wouldnt be mad...I want to keep him but is he willing to be the 4th or split time with Bland? because he'd be a depth player (which we need) but is that the role hes willing to take?
Keep an eye out for it on the forum. I’ve seen it like 4 or 5 times now lol it compelled me to make a threadI've only seen articles written that mention him as trade bait.
The thing is we didn't miss him at all when he got injured in week 6.I really don’t get it. We just saw how important CB depth was last year and now we want to cut a dependable vet CB?
Assuming he can return to form (obviously if he’s not the same guy this doesn’t apply), that gives us a 4 deep CB room that can withstand multiple injuries.
Mukuamu is not a full time CB, he’s a Swiss Army knife. Counting on him to step in and be a pure CB in the event of an injury is dicey. Joseph and Wright don’t inspire nearly enough confidence to cut Lewis, and Scott is a rook.
Y’all wanna go veteran dumpster diving in December if we have an injury? Did y’all not see how a lack of CB depth can greatly affect a defense? Is 4.7M of cap space we won’t use more important than having insurance and depth at an important position?
So many keep suggesting this as if the team is going to take 4M and bring back a stud. Lewis’s depth and vet dependability is much more valuable to us than 4M in savings.
If Bland gets hurt, who the heck is our starting slot CB? Without Lewis, we wouldn’t even have the slightest clue let alone be confident it won’t be an issue. Dude got injured on a sweet instinctual pick last season, he’s not great but he’s definitely got some game and experience. Cutting him makes little sense.
We didn’t miss him? Are you serious? We signed 3 washed vets and cycled through the young guys in November/December. Do you not recall Joseph getting picked on in Jacksonville? That very well cost us the 1 seed. Do you not remember Wright’s play? The thing is we didn't miss him at all when he got injured in week 6.
We have Gilmore this year and Bland has proven he can play. We also added Scott in the draft who deserves a roster spot.
They should hang onto Lewis for camp and preseason in case there are any significant injuries. If not, cutting him would allow us to save $5 million in cap space that we'll need to pay Lamb and Diggs.
Great wright up!I really don’t get it. We just saw how important CB depth was last year and now we want to cut a dependable vet CB?

Lol ey man I’ll always take proven depth over “cap space”.Great wright up!
PS, are you his agent?
Jk
Haha

Expensive contract for a 4th corner, but if you have the cap space and he recovers well I think it's worth it to keep an experienced corner around. He's competing with Joseph, Wright, and a couple of rookies for spots and unless he's not the same player I just don't think he gets pushed off.I really don’t get it. We just saw how important CB depth was last year and now we want to cut a dependable vet CB?

Neither cap nor roster spots are unlimited. Bland's emergence and Gilmore's signing has dropped Lewis back to 4th in the rotation.I really don’t get it. We just saw how important CB depth was last year and now we want to cut a dependable vet CB?

he has value for sure, good slot corner starter quality, but that was a very nasty foot injury.I've only seen articles written that mention him as trade bait.
They have a boat load of depth at slot corner and safety.I really don’t get it. We just saw how important CB depth was last year and now we want to cut a dependable vet CB?
