Why do our fans laugh at the Giants' philosophy?

They were 60m under the cap.

Would you rather have Vernon and be 45m under the cap OR
Not have Vernon and still be 60m under the cap

One or two overpaid guys won't hurt you
No. Not at the high numbers they signed him for.

If you think about it....
Back after theteam of the 90's was done.
Jerry spent to bring in free agents and hit the CAP limit looking for the one more Super Bowl. Signing their own players on the roster a second thought.
Now the Giants on the other hand back then signed their own players as their first thought. Free agents were brought in to shore up selective positions.

Fast forward to this year - Maybe the Giants being a few years removed from their last Super Bowl are trying to get bat to the Super Bowl fast.
As they are now, IMO, chasing big time free agents.

Just saying.....

Eli is only there a few more years and they realize how hard finding a franchise QB is. We haven't realized that since Troy. Tony was dumb luck.

Personally, I'd rather draft well and then take that 60 million and take care of a few minor weakness areas on the team (FA), extend our players and spend the rest on reducing cap numbers with players contracts.

At least, if I had it my way.

I don't know that he is one of the best young pass rushers. He may be but his numbers don't really support that over the past few seasons. He is productive with tackles though.
