Why do our fans laugh at the Giants' philosophy?

But it's widely known that he's gone if they don't make the playoffs and you said they have better coaching with a guy who's never coached. You have no idea what you're talking about and are using facts pulled from nowhere to support your argument. Don't do that. It shows your bias.

I am biased. I have to assume that whomever is coaching the Giants is better than Garrett. I dont hide my dislike for Garrett. And isnt it ironic that just 5 years ago it was Garrett without one win as a head coach on any level taking over in Dallas. If that is a disclaimer for a coach then surely you cant support Garrett. For if no wins is a disclaimer then surely his record since he was hired could in no way have inspired a change of heart.

If only Jerry would fire Garrett for not making the playoffs. Now that would be nice.

When they are the ones who have won 2 super bowls the last decade? Where does the hubris come from? 2014? lol

One team in the division is going all out to win a Super Bowl for their aging quarterback. I don't want to hear about "Romo friendly" anymore. I don't want to hear about the "Romo/Witten window". The franchise's non-actions today show they are not desperate to win for these two.

we mock the enemy thats 101

Dallas' Thorton signing was pretty efficient, IMO.
Hopefully they keep it up.

The Giants have their key parts in place already. They might be over spending. But, they are spending on needs. They are adding only the pieces they were weak at. As bad as they were, there offense played well enough to almost out them in the playoffs. They know they have to bolster the defense and they are doing that.

That's true, but anyone could have went out and gave those contract the Giants gave. Teams just decided it wasn't smart. It's not like they hit the jackpot, because I doubt there were higher bids. You aren't winning just because you can pay a player at a position of need a crap load. Money paid doesn't mean production on the field.

They do it out of jealousy.

Just like when they say they would take " such and such over such and such" from another team. Knowing damn well the other player is better, but because he's not wearing a star it can't happen.

Nobody is more critical of the FO than me. The only they missed on that bothered me a little was Lamar Miller. In general I'd rather have the OL intact down the road. If you can find a decent OL in FA, you are sure to overspend on them.

So now that you have admitted these guys won't develop until 2-5 years from now, you are almost there. Let's say the same thing about this years draft, even next year as well. What do we do between now and those 5-6-10 years. We can't build a team on a draft when we are drafting guys that we can't evaluate for 5 years. We must go after proven player. And that's now!!! Not in two days, weeks. Or months, we need players now.

Uh, you brought in the 5-year parameter, in the post I was responding to. All I said was how stupid it is - and yes, it absolutely is - to pass judgement on a draft class after one year.

You swung and missed...twice.

Broncos- T.J. Ward, Ware, Aqib Talib and Emmanuel Sanders (not to mention Manning was signed as a fa)
Seahawks-Cliff Avril, Michael Bennett, and Percy Harvin
Patriots-Brandon Browner, Patrick Chung, and Revis

Denver side - I grant you them as an example - the only stud signed by either the Seahawks and Pats was Revis, and he is not the CB he used to be, either. The Hawks and Pats did exactly what Dallas gas done the last several ears. They've cherry-picked mid-line to upper mid-line FAs and filled needs.

Meanwhile, teams who have broken the bank over the last 20 years have crashed and burned (Philly and Washington come to mind).

They acquired OL?

Say we get Elliott or Henry (maybe even with McFadden), in any round, with our O-line we will still destroy their FAs they signed to their D-line.

Well if we sign Elliot our defense will still have holes minus Hardy. Frankly, I'd be sick to death seeing other teams upgrade their defense while we just sit and watch.

Russell Okung is in for a visit today with the Giants. The only other visit he has scheduled is with the Lions. If the deal is right, I hope they don't let him leave.

If they sign him, then they will need to sign another tackle to play at least 4-6 games when he gets injured.

Okung hasn't played a full 16 game season as a pro.

Well, the market for Okung is going to likely be north of 5 years, 66 Million. That's about what Trent Williams signed for (Same Draft Class). Tom, do you see the Giants spending that for Okung?

If anyone would bother to look at the makeup of the 2007 and 2011 Giants rosters, they would see that they had some the highest percentages of drafted starters in the entire NFL.

In other words, almost the opposite of building via free agency.
