Why do people act like Jason Garret is still the head coach?

Considering where this team was with Jason Garrett and where they are right now.. no doubt about it.
If one would just stop and look at the roster and game day performances, it's actually blatantly obvious what MM has done. Think about it, before he got here, no S's and no NT's. Now, we have two NTs and like 4 guys who are better at S than any S we've had since Ken Hamlin. And it shows.

No they don't. They have more Super Bowl Wins, since our run in the 90's, and we had more than Garret. Not saying here that Garret wasn't part of the problem, but the main problem is Jerry.
Now I can agree!!!!

I think you missed the point, though. Garrett was horrible as OC of the Giants.

Just do a side by side comparison with the 2019 team, that took a decade to put together. Today there is quality competition at every level of the roster. Better in all phases. Free agency was a joke during Garrett’s tenure and what was happening on the Dline and in the secondary was painfully bad those entire 10 years.

This team isn't the 8-8 cowboys of old. I don't see a scenario where Dan Quinn and Micah have a let down game against Zach Wilson. You guys need to let the Garret era go he can't hurt you anymore.
It's harder than you think haha. In all seriousness, I think this team's mentality is fantastic.

Jerry is definitely at the top of the totem pole as far as being problematic, but that needs to be offset by a quality coach. Not a no resume clown where Jerry’s calling every shot.

The thing is: we've been here before. So far it doesn't matter who's the talent or who's coaching, the end results remain the same. There is one constant in the equation. Cowboy's fans fall for fool's gold all the time. Every year we have someone saying this is the year, this time it is different. Some of us, rather wait and see and say talk is cheap; let them prove it on the field.

They are proving it. 12-5 2 years in a row. Lead the league in turnovers, top scoring offense, legit roster, winning even through injuries, deep young competition. Just demolished a division team on the road to open the season. Garrett was garbage and there was nothing to buy during that time. fools gold for an entire decade. There’s a huge difference and this team is finally being properly built and coached and ready to take that step.

Disagree. This is a completely different regime after we got rid of the last holdover in Kmo.

I have never said it before. I am saying it now, for the first time since 07. We are a contender. If you've fallen for fool's gold in the past, why don't you evaluate and consider why you fell for it previously?

And it's not even that. It's more about your last sentence. This team is quite simply different.

Look at the OL. It pretty much fell apart this preseason. And...............................for the first time since the 90's, the backups came in and it still wasn't bad. I was shocked myself, especially considering the Gnats have a fine DLine.

And given Daks performance last year it is reasonable to be concerned that he might turn the ball over 4 times as well. If that doesn't happen though the Jets are in trouble.
This will not happen, we no longer have stupid WR option routes where QB and WR need to read and react the same or its a pick. Its all on timing now.

Do we? Do I?

I feel like there's a different mentality in the organization since MM has been the HC.

More DOG personality, or WOLF, if you will.

JG was a coward.

He maintained a military approach with the media but in Hard Knocks you saw desperation in his tone. F this and Fing F that, but it was his only his poor attempt to gain comeradry with the players, because that's all he was- a former player turned puppet HC.

Now he's out of the league and probably commentating D2 Games.

Extremely different. Sure we’d like to be deeper in certain areas, but young guys are stepping up and playing well through adversity. That’s definitely one of the signs that things are not the same. It’s a big leap towards a much improved roster and all those improvements to the 53 are glaringly obvious when compared to the previous regime.

All the swearing on hard knocks.. it was cringeworthy. Just seemed like he was trying to hard and it looked out of place.

Nothing is certain. I do think it is unlikely but it is not an unreasonable probability due to him throwing into coverage like an idiot at times last season.

I mean, we've got as far with Mike McCarthy as we did with Jason Garrett. Who cares how the season records have looked. Plus, McCarthy is working with better talent.

I'm not a huge fan of Jason Garrett, but the first 5-6 years of his tenure here was rebuilding the defense after he finished with the offensive line.
