Why do people act like Jason Garret is still the head coach?

Problem is you're not just facing Zach Wilson....you're playing a New York Jets team that is really good. That team is stacked both on offense and defense. Very similar to the Cowboys last year with Cooper Rush. They have a defense that can shut down quality offenses, as well as a quality Oline and depth at both RB and receiver.

Dont think this is an easy W like we are playing Arizona or something.
Before AR went down people were talking SB for the Jets. It wasn't just because of AR but he was the last needed ingredient the Jets thought would put them over the top. Which means they are a strong and talented team and we better show up ready for a 60 minute fight.

I think we win going away, this team seems different to me after 53 years watching them, I am really excited this year.

Because we had bad defenses.... we don't have that anymore
In our game last week, on the Giants 1st drive they marched down the field with the run and we couldn't stop it till we blocked their FG.
The Jets are going to look at that drive to see why the run worked as well as it did. If we don't stop that run, the Jets are going to be tough to deal with. We know their defense is tough, and we had better stop their run or it'll be a long day.
Ultimately I think we'll handle it, but the Cowboys can't afford to underestimate that run game.

I want the quarterback to actually know what it is he is supposed to accomplish, rather than simply walking to the mic for a cute soundbite when things are bad.
Garrett was like that; no matter what, it was someone else to blame.
I'll grant you that much, that concerning blame, with Garrett it was always "he" or "we", but never "me".
Garrett never accepted blame.

Tough D’s always shut down Kellen’s offense.
In 2022...Cowboys offense did this:

-40 points on 3rd ranked defense (win)
-25 points on 10th ranked defense (win)...with backup QB
-20 points on 7th ranked defense (win)...with backup QB
-31 points on 12th ranked defense (win) in playoffs

This team isn't the 8-8 cowboys of old. I don't see a scenario where Dan Quinn and Micah have a let down game against Zach Wilson. You guys need to let the Garret era go he can't hurt you anymore.
Not worried about the defense

In most cases, a HC is fired due to a string of 2-3 losing seasons that indicate a lack of progress. Sometimes they are fired because they fell far short of expectations.

Landry and Campo were fired for the first reason. Switzer, Gailey, Phillips and Garrett were fired for the 2nd reason. Jimmy Johnson and Bill Parcells left of their own accord.

With Landry being the exception, each time a Cowboys HC has been fired it has not been the big story. The big story has always been about the GM that is held to zero accountability.

Garrett needed to go, no disagreement. However, we will never know the degree to which Jerry interfered with decision making that is typically reserved for a Head Coach. We may never know how much cap mismanagement played a part in it. We don't really know the part that Garrett played in talent acquisition versus Jerry Jones.

It's not unusual for an owner to fire both HC and GM. It will never happen in the case of the Dallas Cowboys but I can count at least three times when it should have.

In the end, I don't think there has ever been a fired Cowboys HC that was treated fairly by the Jones's and that includes Jason Garrett. I'll never understand the animosity that many fans have towards him. Garrett was one of ours, a Cowboys QB and a part of the 90's Super Bowl championship teams. He had one losing season when Romo was out 12 games.

Cause I’m still getting Garret like results in the playoffs.

No we didn't. Eagles were playing at the same time and it was for a better seeding if the had lost.
If the Cowboys were trying to win...why did we sit so many players, before and during the game?

And it's the way we're losing in the playoffs...very Garrett like. Some are happy with a great regular season. Lets see how we play after Thanksgiving because that's when the cracks usually show.

I don't believe that we did.

Dak, Lamb, Pollard etc. We're all in until the second to last drive in the game. You can see it on the play by play.

I believe you're misremembering

I think we did stop it considering they had to kick a fg.
Then they were able to nothing on the ground since then. We need to get used to the fact DQ is able to adjust unlike Marinelli. If Jets figure something out ill bet DQ dials something up

Everybody always quick to give Dan Quinn all the credit, but last I checked its McCarthy always in the middle of the locker room getting the team hyped after a win.
Weird thing around here. They’ll credit Quinn, Moore, McClay and even Jerry while the HC has nothing to do with it. I think it’s McCarthy more than any of them. There’s a quality plan in place that simply didn’t exist before he got here.

Same here. Last year we were a developing D. This year, we're a disruptive D w/ very few weaknesses. Cowboys 37 Jets 9
