How many QBs have had 4 straight perfect games in the playoffs. People need to accept that playoff defenses are typically badasses. Qbs almost never got to town in every game in the playoffs. Some completely poop the bed but get bailed out by other aspects of their team. Anybody remember Ruthlessraper's 27 passer rating in his first Super Bowl win? How about Brady's INTs on three consecutive possessions in the NFC Championship two years ago? Or better yet is 71 passer rating performance against the Rams in 2018? Or how about his classic 150 yard "masterpiece" in his first Super Bowl agaisnt the Rams? Or maybe Mahomes 78 passer rating with 2 INT performance against the 49ers while WINNING the Super Bowl?

I really wish people would move off this whole "This QB can carry his team" kick. It's just not true and I'm really getting tired of hearing it. Nobody is carrying 47 other guys. I really get sick of the media constantly foisting this brain dead narrative upon us. Yes the QB is the most important player on the team.. I get that.. but he aint winnin jack without some help. It's disrespectful to those 47 other guys to keep acting like they play no part in their teams' fortunes.

At the end of the day the Cowboys TEAM will need to play 4 straight great games to win it all. Dak is part of that team.. however he alone will not win or lose any game. Why is that such a hard reality for some to accept?

Who’s saying this? I surely hope you are not wasting your time watching those day shows where guys who have never touched a football or a too concussed ex lineman talk about the QB position.

So many Dak haters in here have said that...how Dak needs to prove his $40 million/year pay worth and carry this team to a Super Bowl. There have been threads created to crucify Dak's salary.

Definitely doesn't have to be perfect just eliminate turnovers I guess that's too much to ask? Biadase saved his bacon this week didn't he.
You should be praising KM also, he has installed unconventional routes allowing CD and Pollard to break open early taking a lot of pressure off Dak.
Dak is responding well. Just don't turn the ball over.

It's like we were talking about in another thread. Football is a team sport. It's not like Dak can win it by himself, no matter what he does.

Dak isn't the problem. He's never been the problem. Just like Romo was never the problem.

The problem is the culture, and I thought that was changing earlier this season.. But as Parsons gets worn down as the season goes on, this team has less of that swagger and winning attitude.

I think they get it back. I just want to see the team get healthy and get back in their rhythm on offense and defense.

I think Doran Bland could possibly be an upgrade over Brown, at this point in the season. The guy has 5 INTs in his rookie year, and has done that quietly without even playing, or at least without starting, in most games.

Lots of things look promising to me. Then again, I'm cautiously optimistic, because it's up to the coaches to make the adjustments.

We've got the talent. If anyone is to blame this year for not winning, it'll be the coaching staff.

To blame Dak is really kind of immature when you think about it.

I doubt they would as I'm sure you'd point out that Dak isn't yet getting $40m.

Dak doesn't have to play great for 4 playoff games. The whole team has to be great. This last win was for me telling of the team.
Dak- throws a horrible pick 6 that puts us down by 10.
Defense- defense caused 4 TOs that gave us more possessions which we converted to points.
Dak- Dak kept scoring and took pressure off the defense that was gassed.
STs- Maher was money as usual.

Dak doesn't have to play "great" and the defense doesn't have to play "great". But Dak and the defense can't play bad enough to lose. If that makes sense. If Dak gives the game away then we lose cuz the defense can't bail out a poor QB performance. If the defense sucks Dak can't bail them out from a bad showing. Everyone has to play "well" to "great". Just like every team in the playoffs.

BTW that 3rd and 30 to Hiltin just showed the rest of the league we got a guy that can take the defense deep. Bad news for other teams. Ty can open the field up making it easier for Dak. I'm glad we signed Ty instead of OBJ. Ty did what we hoped OBJ might be able to do later but he did it now when we needed it. Good pickup for us.

Wasn't that fumble Biadasz recovered caused by an opposing tackler stripping Dak of the football from behind during a QB blitz? If so, that falls on the Oline for not protecting well. Now, if Dak had lost the ball while running on his own, that would clearly be on him. Excuse me for not remembering how it happened. I have not had the time to rewatch the game.

True. Dak had his contract restructured to help the Cowboys only pay him $19+ million this year, but starting next year, it's going to be $49 mil, followed by $52 mil in 2024. I'm sure those next 2 years will be restructured once again to help the team with their yearly salary cap, but overall, his contract does average $40 mil/year. I'm sure you know this, right?

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/dallas-...cott will earn,dead cap value of $108,800,000.

Already setting the excuse foundation for the failure that is upcoming for choking Dak in the playoffs.

P.S. Unlike the Eagles game teams in the playoffs play with a purpose.

Only thing that you said that I take a little exception with is Ruthlessraper….he was HANDED that Super Bowl in the biggest high jacked game of all time…7-8 absolutely TERRIBLE calls to HAND them the game…go back and watch it…it was criminal.

Dak just needs to do what he is doing. He is playing fantastic . I could do without bonehead plays but I’m less concerned about those than the defense

clock management is a problem with this team. It contributed to loss to San Fran last year was reason why we lost to Jax and almost reared its head again against Philly

I really think there's only a handful of people that are saying this.

These are people who have taken a stance that Dak is not good enough never will be gets paid too much and they are out to prove themselves right at all cost and it's real easy just ignore them and don't respond to their posts.

That said Dak needs to be at the top of his game come playoff time.
He is going to have to move the chains with his legs at times like he did in the game against the Eagles. And he's going to have to make these decisions at warp speed.

Because this defense is compromised to the point where three and out is just not an option it is the recipe for disaster and Dak has to understand this and do everything in his power to avoid it.

Also Dak cannot have mental mistakes like running out of bounds in the Eagles game when he could have stayed in and let the clock run.

Freak interceptions will happen and I think anybody that knows football understands that and will accept that and knows that DAk has had quite a few of those circumstances this year that were out of his control as far as interceptions go.
But what people aren't going to tolerate in year six is mental mistakes and hesitation.

A lot of people early in the season did their part to salvage this season Cooper Rush and this defense went above and beyond or there would be no playoffs in our future.

Not the Dak has to be perfect but it is definitely his time to lead the team because really in the NFC at this point there's no one we can't beat if we are relatively healthy and play a smart game.

Quarterbacks are about to make 50 million a year. If Dak gets the Cowboys to NFCCG the Cowboys will rip up his contract and give him all the cash. Football is the best team sport of all. You hit that on the head. The Patriots 20 year dynasty is because Belichick put together great teams but the media is giving Brady the credit. It is what it is.

Yes it's a team game but at the end of the day the only decent playoff game I've seen Dak play is the first one he played in 2016. So we're talking about Dak playing good not great just good.He has to stringing together 4 good performances against solid defenses. If he were playing against the NFC east I would say it's very possible. Just remember the defense won't always get turnovers every game. Seeing Daks inability to put two games away isnt very inspiring either. Dak has about as much of a chance of leading his team to a SB as Kirk Cousins. So ask yourself could Cousins do it?
There is no way Cousins could lead the Vikings to a SB. There is your answer!

I understand what you're saying, and you're right most of the time with this. But people could be saying this because we're not good enough to carry our QB. Think of the 80s Broncos. It had to be all on Elway. He dragged that team to 3 SBs. Once he got to the SB the climb was insurmountable.

I would think because nobody has any confidence in this defense. I don't think its a shot or knock on Dak when they say that. I think its a major concern or lack of confidence in the defense. After the first mistake, Dak was damn near perfect. He was amazing, with his legs at times too. Even him being so great, we barely won the game against a backup QB. In order to win any games in the playoffs, Dak and the offense are going to have to put up 40 plus a game and play great to win games.
