That's fair. I don't think Eli played particularly well in that first Super Bowl, but he did play well overall in the games leading up to it.

The main issue with Eli is that he spent the VAST majority of his career as an average QB. But he's a 2x champ and 2x SB MVP. Resume is what matters.

He did do his part during those 8 playoff games/2 Super Bowl runs.

i would have bet a million dollars you and I would never find common ground over anything!

It's a festivus miracle!!!

Happy New Year to you and yours Nav.

How many QBs have had 4 straight perfect games in the playoffs. People need to accept that playoff defenses are typically badasses. Qbs almost never got to town in every game in the playoffs. Some completely poop the bed but get bailed out by other aspects of their team. Anybody remember Ruthlessraper's 27 passer rating in his first Super Bowl win? How about Brady's INTs on three consecutive possessions in the NFC Championship two years ago? Or better yet is 71 passer rating performance against the Rams in 2018? Or how about his classic 150 yard "masterpiece" in his first Super Bowl agaisnt the Rams? Or maybe Mahomes 78 passer rating with 2 INT performance against the 49ers while WINNING the Super Bowl?

I really wish people would move off this whole "This QB can carry his team" kick. It's just not true and I'm really getting tired of hearing it. Nobody is carrying 47 other guys. I really get sick of the media constantly foisting this brain dead narrative upon us. Yes the QB is the most important player on the team.. I get that.. but he aint winnin jack without some help. It's disrespectful to those 47 other guys to keep acting like they play no part in their teams' fortunes.

At the end of the day the Cowboys TEAM will need to play 4 straight great games to win it all. Dak is part of that team.. however he alone will not win or lose any game. Why is that such a hard reality for some to accept?

If the team cannot get to the NFCCG this season, then a full rebuild is in order. They cannot move on from Dak quickly, but should not restructure his contract and move on from the current core of the team over 27 years old ASAP. The only ultimate goal should be winning Super Bowls. The team could never expect an easier path than the current “contenders” in the NFC.

I’m guessing based on your post history that you need others to appreciate the QB talent that Dak brings to the table. Cowboys fans have higher standards for the QB position than good regular season records and stats. It will always be measured in the playoffs-and the success of the team under those QB’s. You should be used to those lofty standards. Blame Staubach and Aikman. Lol

I believe everyone is hoping that Prescot has a game where the bone headed plays DON'T rear their ugly heads. Too many times this year this team has had to bounce back after Prescot has one of those plays that can possibly turn a game into their opponent's favor. If Dak can come into a game and unlash some nasty passes to his receivers and TEs and keep his defense fresh, then this club can do some damage in the playoffs.

If Dak can play like he did against the eagles last game , but without the INT he gave them that caused us to start off down by 10, and be consistent about it, that is what we need from him.

That would help us mightily to win a superbowl.
