Why do we have such a horrible offense?

I don't think I've seen a team with this many weapons, that can move the ball effectively, which is this bad at scoring (especially in the redzone) and sustaining drives? It's mindboggling. Did anyone see the Norm segment on DFW Sportsbeat...

Just going off memory.. TAKE AWAY LATE GARBAGE TD'S VS. THE GIANTS, CHARGERS AND PACKERS... and we've scored 58 pts. in our last 10 games. That's alarming..
Also (just going off memory of what was said) .. I think we're avg only 8 points going into the 4th qtr of 8 of those 10 games. Just alarming.

Clearly it's not a defensive issue with this team. They also discussed how Wade has no authority on personnel issues etc. Pretty depressing. Hoping we can come out of this slump Saturday.

In the last 10 games we've scored 210 pts...thats not great, but either you need to quit listening to Norm because he has his facts wrong, or you totally misheard what he said.

As for you comment about the defense...the defense is average at best and the last two ames, has pulled a major fold in crunch time, something that has plagued the team for years. They dont force turnovers and unlike last yr, we are getting very little pressure on the QB.

There are issues in alot of places, not just the offense.

Stupid penalities, sacks, and tunrovers have cost us a lot of promising drives this season.

For the life of me I still don't understand why there haven't been drastic steps taken to overhaul our OL.

Yeah.. I hate to blow up negativity especially if it's incorrect. I'll rewatch the segment. Still it's seems like the offense is really holding us back.

I suspect its a combination of things. One, most of those guys are eating up alot of cap space, the other is its apparent the staff has no faith in the backups to play BETTER than whats out there.

Davis hasnt played as well as he did the previous two yrs. Gurode has played hurt most of the yr. Colombo and Adams are/were both inconsistent. Kosier started out well but seems to have tailed off. Free is a better pass protector than run blocker.

Say what you want about the sacks, but at least Tony isn't throwing it into the D's hands again this year. Next year he'll be throwing the ball out of bounds and we'll be set.:D

Don't you know the D is supposed to hold the opponent to Zero points the entire game and not just the 1st three quarters??? As long as the offense scores one TD or three fg's we should win every game. Clearly the offense is not the problem.....

Can I just say I hate this notion that the late scores in the last two games are "garbage" touchdowns?

What a load of bullcrap.

You can say whatever you like. Instead of calling it garbage time maybe we should just call it practice...

We have ZERO big playmakers on the offense.Felix is as close as u get and he isnt.We need one young TO type of a WR that can dominate games.A Desean Jackson for example.

1. The offense is very predictable and there are not enough trick type plays or misdirection plays when the offense is stagnant. Lack of creativity in playcalling is my biggest gripe.

2. The defense doesn't cause enough turnovers, so the offense is almost never given a short field to work with. Combine this with a bad kickoff return game and you aren't going to score on many 80 yard drives.

3.Stupid penalties, missed blocks and bad execution in the red zone.

Since you're so eager to throw out labels, go right ahead.

I'm sorry but if you play the "take away the garbage" card for any offense, their stats will be worse.

Your memory is failing. That would be for the past five games, not the past 10 games. (We had more than 58 points going into the fourth quarter just in the Seattle and Atlanta games combined.)

And ANYONE who calls our final touchdowns against the Giants and Chargers "garbage touchdowns" has a loser's attitude and deserves to lose.

...you mean like the Newman INT where the offense proceeded to go three and out right before half-time?...and this after the debacle on the goal line the previous possession...this offense is nowhere near being above reproach...what about the forced fumble on Bradshaw and the Jenkins INT against New York?...that's three turnovers by the defense in two weeks...

...Dallas has won the turnover differential but to no avail the past two weeks...

...i do agree that both sides need to do more but the Cowboys can't seem to get all phases going at the same time, except against teams like Seattle and Atlanta...or Oakland...

We don't have a "horrible" offense.

We have a poor red zone offense in recent weeks. There is a difference.

These types of things are sometimes cyclical. It might not take much to correct it. That falls to the staff to concentrate specifically on that type of scoring. I think we are often too reliant on the "big play" to score, simply because we were spoiled earlier in the year with them.

I have.:D

The last touch down we scored was with 2 seconds left on the clock. Some may call it "garbage time" and be negative about it but to me it's "Live Practice" because clearly we need it, especially in the redzone...

The game prior was not much different...

having no confidence in your kicker drives some of those problems... if you can't count on him to hit with regularity, it leads to having to call lower percentage plays. Plus, for some strange reason, Barber has been killing us in the red zone - that's just totally out of character.
