Why do we have such a horrible offense?

We don't have a "horrible" offense.

We have a poor red zone offense in recent weeks. There is a difference.

These types of things are sometimes cyclical. It might not take much to correct it. That falls to the staff to concentrate specifically on that type of scoring. I think we are often too reliant on the "big play" to score, simply because we were spoiled earlier in the year with them.

This has been our MO for the past 3 years and then we get down the stretch and it fizzles out. We should practice Redzone scoring only for two weeks...

sorry. they took away my practice invites, so i really don't know what they're doing to address the problems. i just never found it fun to make speculation real enough to suggest i had a clue what they were doing.

I think that the offense is pretty good at racking up yards.So whatever their doing to get those yards they just need to keep on doing it.I would like to see a little play action mixed in between the fourties,but they're going to have to have some succes with the running game first.Or even a gadget play between the fourties,just another possibility for the defense to account for.

I think the offense is struggling in the red zone.I think some of it's play calling,but the bulk of it's on the players.The end zone view of 2nd and goal last week showed Gurode getting knocked on his butt,you can't allow penetration in those situations.Ofcoarse that whole episode was a disaster,Gurode wasn't the only one that was getting whipped.

I also think that alot of the problem is attention to detail,that lack of detail causes the procedure penalties and blown assignments that plague this team.The difference between scoring points and going without is a frogs hair,the little things matter.

I also think that one of the biggest things that plague this team should have been emphasised way back in camp.It's kinda late in the season to try to instill the importance of detail at this point in the season.

Ahhh huh. While you're playing chess with word games I'm trying to get a conversation going with some fans about how to fix our struggles. Not that the coaches read this board and implement our ideas but a conversation nonetheless. Shame on me for trying to talk about my team on a message board for fans of the same team....

Once you get inside the redzone the game speeds up,when inside the ten it really speeds up.The little mistakes that you get away with between the twenties are magnifed when inside the twenties because everything is compressed and the speed of the game is increased.Those little mistakes are magnified to the point to where they are no longer little because they are costing the team points.

Just a theory.
