Why do you dislike Roger Goodell?

I think he does what most of the owners want him to do. So, I guess I really don't
like some of the things most of the owners want. I don't like the fact that NFL football has become more and more offense-oriented and much more focused on individual stars. Football is a great team sport. 7-on-7 flag football or touch football are the ultimate offense-oriented, individual-focus games. Don't let the NFL go any further that direction.
I kinda know what youre saying. I have found myself honestly thrilled with a field position 10-7 battle between like Baltimore and Pittsburgh but with the advent of fantasy football they need the stats to draw eyeballs

im assuming you do. Everyone seems to. I can't remember ever hearing his name mentioned without immediate eye rolling and condemnation.

The only argument I hear is about the incostitent punishments of players. But my rebuttal is that why should he have to punish players in the first place? We have the police for that. The league only started cracking down on the players Bc of public perception about their image. So why don't the players stop getting arrested then? It's a free country you're free to behave properly any time you want. Last time I checked roger goodell wasn't out at 2am.

Do movie studios punish their actors? Do we still enjoy the works of notorious thugs like Robert Downey jr., Sean penn, charles Barkley, Winona Ryder, Adele etc.?

Since when is letting due process and the 6th amendment take place equate to complicity?

Player gave up their rights for money by agreeing to the CBA.

TV actors can get in trouble because TV shows have sponsors. Ever notice a character suddenly get killed off when it didn't seem to fit the story line. Keep in mind they film episodes long before they aire.

The league does need to test for performance enhancing drugs and punish for failed tests. That's not covered by law enforcement.

The better question is why does the league need to punish players for things like DV when the police investigated and didn't punish them?

The NFL could just assign a punishment based on how much legal trouble the player got into.
Misdemeanor DUI conviction - 2 games
Misdemeamor DV - 4 games
Misdemeanor Drug conviction - 2 games
Felony - 1 year

2nd offenses would have another predefined set of penalties.

The NFLPA should insist on it during the next CBA negotiations.

The league,(owners) will give in on these issues if the players give up money or play 18 games for the same salaries.

Too tough on weed, too over the top on discipline and investigations, just let the police guide your decisions no need to be a sherrif. Ray Rice thing was a big embarrasment for him and he's been *^($ since.

He got way more backlash for that thing than rice did. The guy who almost killed the mother of his kids with one punch.

Imo he listened to fans who said the NFL was getting way too thuggish. Then they backlashes when it was THEIR player who got suspended without due process

He is changing the game I grew up loving with stupid rule changes and he has now turned against the players because he was exposed trying to cover up the Ray Rice and Josh Brown incidents.
