No, they played a great great game until the last two minutes. Harp on the offense all you want I concede they sucked.

Deny it all you want or spin it all you want. Dallas had the lead with two minutes to go and Dallas D picked the worst time they could to give up a touchdown.

Dont tell me a thing about the O, I know they sucked. I expected the D to bail out the O.

It happens every year to every team. One unit will bear the burden of winning the game for an underperforming unit.

Dallas D had a chance to do this, but did not.

what for? if week in and week out you go out there to protect your offense's 7 to 10 points to win a game, thats pathetic....

you seem to forget that this defense is already overperforming... they are young with alot of new blood, little time to gel so far, clearly getting better every week...
so if we were to win that game, the offense should of put a little more importance on getting more points not time of possession, plain and simple. 10 PTS will win jack !!!
I will say this for you though that you may or may not agree with but I have been noticing as long as Zimmer has been our def coordinator is that when the opposing offense is making their final run to score, he puts in the prevent defense or some form of it with very little to no intention to pressure the qb which is most of the time what worked well for them up to that point...

I don't think Bledsoe got much of a pass this week; about every article I read hung a lot of the blame on his door. In fact tho the pass protection clearly qualified his diastrous outing, the question is already being raised if DB is about to revisit his past history, and revert to his old form after six or seven games.

Another Sunday of stalled drives, failure to benefit from defensive turnovers, forced passes, not seeing open receivers, picks and/or fumbles, and scores so low the defense has to play like the 2000 Ravens for us to win, the storm gates will open.

Pitchforks are being sharpened as we speak. :)

You know Barb I just bought a new model with titanium prongs.

I can hardly wait to use it. :)

The defense did bail out the offense though. The defense was great all day, and they provided 3 turnovers (okay, one was special teams). The defense gave up one touchdown, it happens. If the 3 turnovers didn't provide a means of bailing the offense out, what would've? Was the defense supposed to bail us out when Seattle kicked the 50 yard field goal that our offense handed to them?

The defense has given up 2 touchdowns in the last 44 of our opponents possessions. Factor in the turnovers they create, and if that's not bailing out our offense, what is?!

I blame Cortez and the conservative playcalling.

I think he has gotten his fair share of the blame. I know I have been fairly critical.

It was easily his worst game as a Cowboy. He displayed many of the traits that had given him a bad rep the last couple of years. I think that scares me more than anything. I was really hoping that Parcells would get him out of some of those habits.

There are other things to blame as well though. Pass protection was lousy. Too many penalties. The red zone offense as a whole was lousy. The kicker was lousy.

the Drew contra fans are doing as predicted - took till week 7 but outed none the less!

Imagine a QB actually having a borderline bad game. The horror!

mickey mention a stat about the 2003 season . in games decided by 7 points or less we were 5-1. this season were 3-3. the one thing i think people should give credit to carter for , if there being fair and rational was he usually made a big play when they really needed it . I think bledsoe has made big plays when they needed them as well, but has come up alittle short against the raiders and seattle. I think bledsoe was just off in seattle, with the rain , the poor blocking , the scheme seattle threw at him etc. I wouldnt be surprised if thats bledsoe's worse game the rest of the season .

Pass protection was lousy and he had a bad game besides. Then throw in all the mistakes and REALLY STUPID penalties and there you have it. That and the D choking at the end. This one was on EVERYONE.

I think it is foolish to blame the defense really... I mean, our offense sits on their hands, and the kicker needs some subscription lenses. The offense gets a lead, and then that it, they sit on it. It is almost like that is the gameplan, to get ahead of the opponent and then blah for an offensive gameplan.

I think we need to pull out the philly gameplan and study it. You start early and don't quit scoring until the janitor has gone home... jees, other than the philly game, it has been that

defense cannot bail out the offensive juggernaut forever...

I blame all 3 but mostly I blame the conservative game planning. Settling for field goals instead of td's killed us against Washington and Seattle.

As for Bledsoe, not to make excuses but the weather did suck and it's tough to get into a rythm when the focus is the running game for the last 20 plays.

Hmmmm....Let me think.

Road game. Freezing cold. Pouring rain. Pressure from Seattle. Wet ball. That good enough? If you take a look Hasslebeck had just as bad of a day. Cortez lost it for us. Early in the game before everything was wet and crappy Bledsoe took us on a lengthy scoring drive with a beautiful pass to Key. Get lost.

Juist love the Bledsoe haters just have to blame him and no one else. Maybe he made the last mistake, BUT it should never have come down to that. But they do not have enough honesty to admit it. GUTLESS wonders. This loss had everyones hand in it from BP on down.

Why is there so many people blaming the defense? Quincy Carter had a hell of alot less to work with but he always got blamed when the defense gave up 13 points and we lost. Hmmmmmmm, even as the president of the Quincy Carter Haters Club I just don't get this crap.

I can only speak for myself and have placed blame on Bledsoe as well as some others on offense for the poor outing with the Seahawks and frankly if one good thing came out of that game it was the play of the defense. Dallas D has faced 3 of the better offenses in the league the past 3 weeks and have played outstanding football. Overall I'm still pleased about Bledsoe but last sunday was a rough day for him and the offense.

It was definitely a team loss. One less untimely penalty/mistake and Dallas wins that game. I think one thing that gets overlooked is dropped passes.

True but I will say Bledsoe was not on target in that game, many balls where being thrown behind guys or just in bad positions not allowing the WR to do much with it even after the catch. I also see this more as an offensive loss for the Cowboys. After all Seattle came into the game with one of the top offenses in the league and for the most part they were shut down. Dallas Offense had ample opportunities to close this game out and just failed. Having said that I have not lost confidence in this team or this offense

Yeah, the offense played a lousy game and the defense kept the team in it, but there were untimely penalties on all sides of the ball that tilted the game.

Bledsoe was off for sure, but NFL receivers have to catch those balls.

I agree it is just hard for me to come down on the defense given the fact they gave up 10 points on the road to one of the top offense in the league.

Oh, I'm not coming down on the D at all. I think I posted somewhere in this thread that saying the defense has "collapsed" and cost us games is stupid. Those last second scores shouldn't have mattered. I guess my point is only that if one false start or defensive holding on a three and out play doesn't happen, Dallas wins. There were lots to choose from. I don't think ya can say that about every game.
