So Jerry and Stephen think they are NFL GMs that are capable of building a team, evaluating talent, signing free agents and everything that involves building a championship roster

Besides being billionaires what makes them believe they can do this?

30 years of history is in the books now…

Why do fans that have no idea the inner workings of running an NFL team think they know better.

I agree that it’s been slow around here but where’s the pride on the craft?

Well first off Jerry was just a millionaire when he borrowed the money to buy the team.
He made himself president and general manager, because his ego was so big he thought he was smarter than anyone else anywhere in the NFL.
He thought he would be the best GM in NFL because he was the smartest guy in NFL.

Over the years he has realized maybe he isnt the smartest GM lol, but he enjoys playing the part.
The cowboys are his toy, and he will run the team and org however he wants to, winning or not.

Stephen got his job from his daddy, and probably feels he is as qualified as anyone else in NFL and he is the 2nd smartest person in NFL LOL.

And he too has a big ego, and enjoys playing his role win or lose.

The team is their toy, and they like playing with it so much, that they like doing that more than actually winning SB's.
Plus they still think they can build a SB team and get it to a SB and win it.
Turns out they are slow learners, as after 27 years of failing, they still think they can do it.
And if they cant/dont, it is no big deal, because it is so much fun trying.

I think another 20 years of jerry, and then steven, and maybe by 2042 something will change !! lol
So if you can live past 2042 you may see something different with cowboys, maybe not though, as another jones may step up and take over
and do the same crap.

The amazing thing is that both jones boys ignore the fact all the success came when Jimmy had total control of the team and drafting, and trades.
Smart strong coach in charge of it all, = SB wins.
But they want to play with the team, and win with some bozo puppet HC, and just ignore what was done back in 90s when jimmy built that team.

When you own a team, you dont have to be qualified to play any role, heck Jerry could be HC too if he wanted to do that.
But as it is they can always fire the HC and hire another one to give the fans hope things will change, and avoid blame themselves.

If fans would stop going to the games, and the stadium was half empty, then they might step back and hire a real GM and HC, but unless that happens
and it wont, they will keep doing what they enjoy doing.

Because Jerry thinks running an NFL team is like running any other business, unfortunately his legacy is going to be tied to winning three Super Bowls and to letting the coach that built that team go.

From a marketing perspective, he has succeeded, but at the cost of the team’s failures decade after decade and going on another one, very sad.

They are good at finding talent but they are absolutely terrible with coaching and leadership hires. We have all witnessed what were great teams absolutely flame out in post season. It’s coaching . That being said any GM would have been fired with their track record ( a long time go) .

The Joneses have been part of three championships that’s what makes them believe they can do this.
