David I'm not giving the offense a back-slap but damit just this past week on this forum we had knuckleheads trying to come up with "cool" names for this defense.

How about the "Underachievers"?

I'd suggest that perhaps the frustration of losing is getting to some of us. The defense just played the #2 rated offense in the NFL, and I think Tiki makes them far more balanced than Philadelphia, which is rated #1.

What can I say? I wasn't impressed by the Giants offense. Their passing game is very streaky. We should have had 2 more turnovers in the first half. We didn't hold Tiki to less than 4 yards a carry but 4.2 ypc is a lot less than his average of 4.7. Tiki is the difference maker for that team on offense, no questions asked. No way Eli can keep that team going through a 16 game season. Those bad throws will cost him.

I just looked at the stats on nfl.com, btw, and we went from the #6 offense in the NFL to the #5 offense, in a game we lost. Our defense went from #6 to #8.

David.

Watch the Giant drive right before half-time. They didn't come away with any points but they controlled the ball so we didn't have another chance to score... Remember 3rd down and 16? Tiki running for it? Our defense comes up "small" more often than not.

You're right. Great Ds make plays when they have to. This one is a good D. They just need to stop people when necessary, get turnovers, whatever.

The D is good enough but needs to make that next step to be great.

It'll never get the chance with an offense that turns the ball over as much as we have. The O stops itself more often that the other team does.

Where are all these heralded defensive players Parcells loves?
Where be the other marcus?
And the much-talked-up Carpenter? And that nose tackle from the Jets (isn't everybody from that team?)
C'mon, Parcells, you has-been. Quit messing with the D and let Zimmer take full control.
Zimmer has been one of the best and can be one of the best if you let him coach and manage. Zim can't control the lousy offensive line nor can he keep our QBs from throwing an INT each quarter. Or not catching passes.
Let Zimmer :star: coach!

roy was beat by shockey but i would bet most ss in the league can't cover shockey on that play. the deep ball was not roys man.i think alot of the probelms with defense come from the offense. hard to go out there fired up when you see your qb hit on 3 step drops and have this many turn overs.the giants are also a better team than sonme give credit for. i fully expected them to score 3 td's with their offense, but when you give them short fields it gets much easier. they are good enough to march the field 2 or 3 times a game.

Right on point Connor01. Roy is a great SS but his coverage skills are lacking at best so why keep putting him in that position (IMO). I think the Giants are a much better team than most folks give them props for and if you think dealing with them now is hard, just imagine in 3-4 years as Eli gets better. They're not a "old" team so they'll be our fight from here on out. I also agree that the offense is putting the defense at a disadvantage with all the 3 & outs, turnovers and bad field position. But I will say that if we aren't getting a decent pass rush, Terrance and Anthony act as if they can't stick with ANY receiver, let alone a top flight one. Something needs to give and I'm hoping as the ticket has been saying that Romo WILL indeed give this team the spark on all sides of the ball to make a run for it. Our schedule is brutal the remainder of the season. I don't see ONE gimme:bang2:
